What I admire and respect is, that he stays absolutely true to himself in the midst of all that circus. Maybe it be smart careerwise or not, this is rare and at the end of the day, he can look in the mirror and not be ashamed of himself. I believe, this counts for a lot. My big problem with his cho...

I am not calling you to stop. You are often right, even if it is always a bit of "the glass is half empty" side, when you could give it a brighter side as well. But I agree on that he is tired of the fame side and this shows in his choices. Choices of not doing anything or stepping back h...

Sf, I should like to echo what Tampa said and thank you very much for all your posts. You must be tired out now, so I hope you have a good journey home and manage to catch up on some sleep. I admit to feeling a bit disappointed this morning, but I remain optimistic that the production will improve ...

SF. Thank you tons for your posts. There is nothing I have read about the play this last day that can come close to your observations. You are our "eyes and ears" on the play. Your view is special, because you are a major fan, and your perspective is for me the most honest and perceptive. ...

Hi sf. Read the play seen the movie and sat thru one production. Not my cup of tea and I think it's dated. Themes not as revel ant today and lacks the action or perverse subject matter that seems to be the norm. No flashy lights and locations and heaven forbid dialogue Nasty word. Means the actor h...

The play can't be a flop. It's already sold out. And RW and in particular Rafe who has the best role will likely get good reviews. So Rudin and Nichols may not give a damn about DC. It was his decision to take the lesser, supporting role and now he's stuck with it. Unfortunately, so are many of his ...

These gushy headlines are meaningless. They're written by people who haven't seen the play. What counts are the critics and the views of people who spent big $ to see a play that had his name first in all the advertising and interviews. He is not a lead in this and people who didn't know the script ...

This is nice though http://www.justjared.com/2013/10/02/daniel-craig-rachel-weisz-betrayal-first-preview-performance/ Boy, he DOES look delicious. Yes. I'm so shallow. :) I'm happy now. No white beard and long hair. I hope i'm being way too tough and maybe, maybe his reviews will be good. First tim...

Fear they can do little with his role. It's Pinter and the smaller, lesser role is in the script. they won't rewrite Pinter. Nichols is going to go with RAfe and RW. They are his leads. Many critics love Pinter and DC may get a pass and decent reviews but what a waste of his talent. He could have do...

Tampa, I agree - this role doesn't show his range. He gets angry once, but it's more of a supporting role - for sure. It just makes me so disappointed in his judgment. Is this what he worked 20 years for? A passive, supporting role to his wife and a young actor that got the role (and no doubt the b...

Oh, Tampa, I SO hope it's just me. Maybe because I'm such a huge fan if his is why I'm harder on him. But when I think of amazing performances like in 'The Mother', this ain't it. Jerry had the better role. I think if Rachel didnt play he wife, he would have played Jerry. She and Jerry had a scene ...

So depressing to read this. SF is a huge DC fan, and if this is what she felt seeing him in this role, imagine what the critics and the general public will feel. It was exactly what I feared. Jerry was obviously the far better role, which is why Nichols wanted him to play it, but DC pulled back to t...

From what I understood Daniel picked Robert's character because it is the more potent role (it was in that Maureen Dowd article), despite Nichols wanting him to play Jerry. So I'm sure he gave some thought to this. And not reading articles and stuff about yourself is just a way to keep your sanity ...
