Am not positive about this cause i just read it and didn't hear Damon say it but Damon is clearly playing an American. Don't have a clue what DC's role was.

It looks like they are trying to do a WW2 version of Oceans 11 which undermines the serious story. Seems like a bad decision. Damon was said to have included DC when he noted the cast in some early interview before DC dropped out, so its unlikely they have the same part.

I understand the refusal to discuss RW. He was very open with Sats re posing on red carpets and talking about her but she wasn't famous. I think he decided it was dangerous with both of them being famous. But - big but, i hate it when he acts up for some dumb reason when he grabs a fans camera in pu...

I don't think you agree to do Bond just for the art of acting. Few Bonds have been good actors. Laz was a model, Moore and Pierce were so so tv stars. I know I'm being tough on him, but i still say he wants it both ways. He could have turned it down and still had a good film career. He wants all the...

GG. If he is so uncomfy with attention, then he made a serious error in his choice of career, and an even worse choice to do Bond. No one put a gun to his head to become a major film star and do Bond. He could have stayed with stage acting. Our guy is spoiled. He wants everything only on his terms. ...

He does need a movie break, Bond can't carry him forever and I so want to see him get the recognition he deserves. IMO he achieved that with Bond, but franchises will never get the nod, unless you die during filming as per Heath Ledger. Not that Oscar glory is the making of a great actor, far from ...

DC just doesn't seem to have the mentality or ego of an A list movie star. which in many ways is not a bad thing. I just wish he would protect himself more the way other A listers usually do. He approves Bond girls that make him look short, he scalps his hair off in a way that is not flattering. I c...

Doesn't he though? Sorry for being a broken record, but I sure think he's more handsome when his hair is longer. sf, you are in no way a broken record. You are speaking the Lord's truth. :) I hate his hair short, just hate it He has unusual good looks, but he can not look great under certain condit...

I've read Devil May Care and it's a good book with a great story but is it Daniel's Bond? I don't think so... This speculation is probably BS anyway. Didn't Babs at some point come out and say that SF's story had nothing to do with the last book when the last author tried to somehow use the ...

personally, I don't know why they held out for Mendes, I thought a fresh approach is what keeps this thing real. Mind you that didn't work with Forster did it? Plus Martin Campbell did his best work on his second Bond. Directorally, I didn't view Skyfall as an ace at all. We'll see. It may not get ...

Pierce's loss

Just a note of sympathy for Pierce Brosnan's terrible loss. His step daughter whom he adopted when she was very young just died of Ovarian Cancel, the same cancer that killed his 1st wife and her mother. I'm not sure of his wife's mother's age, but both his wife and daughter were young. Pierce alway...

Well GG, nobody on this forum knows DC like you do. And you do explain him better than anyone - cause he is one complicated guy. I just get frustrated being his fan sometimes, particularly during this long, long dry spell watching other actors clearly inferior to him both as an actor and as a person...

I think, you all are right, but he is fighting the windmills like Don Quichote. Stupid? Yes. Uneccesary? Yes. But he was never any different. He just didn't change, because I believe his fear of changing due to fame is something, that he fights with all his energy. And he doesn't make any differenc...

I don't think it is a question of having to be loved by the public. I think it is a question of simply being respected by the public and the serious press for the way you handle yourself in public, and also being mindful of your reputation for getting good directors and producers to want to work wit...

Still bummed that he dropped out. If it failed, and it likely won't, it would have been Clooney's failure, not his. Looked like such as easy shoot, nice locations etc. He hasn't worked for at least a yr and we won"'t see any new film from for years. Hate to see him waste all the heat from SF. H...
