Maybe it is just the reporters that specialize in interviewing celebrities. I don't blame DC for not speaking at all about his family, words are too easily twisted.

Entertainment. I interviewed celebrities.

(No, I never interviewed Daniel.)

That was the last several years of my career. Before that I covered a bit of everything -- cops, medical, general features, courts etc.

But anyway, I think it goes without saying around here that Bond will win over Bourne every time. 8)

Do editors encourage twisting the celebs words? Who was the most famous/well known person you interviewed?

No. And remember, there is a world of difference between your daily newspaper and trashy tabloid-style magazines like National Enquirer, Us etc. I can't speak for that kind of publication because I never worked for one.

More musicians than actors. I'd rather not "drop names" on board -- it just makes me feel funny -- but if you're interested drop me a PM. :)

I just answered your PM, Tigertash. :)

Getting this thread back on topic, here's a video interview Matt Damon gave in which he talks about how Bourne could beat James Bond if he could "keep him away from his little gadgets." It's all in good fun and he seems to have a good sense of humor about it, considering he must have been asked the "Bourne vs. Bond" question about a zillion times by now.

Yeah don't be too hard on Matt Damon, he seems very sweet and to be fair there's nothing he's said about Bond that I haven't thought my self. Prior to this latest one I hadn't seen a Bond film for about 15 years because they were cheesy and mysogynistic and not particularly funny with stupid special effects - last thing I would have wanted to watch!

I suppose it is a bit strange updating a 60s character but I see Bond as a type of iconic figure, like Batman or Doctor Who, you have to suspend belief to a certain extent but as long as the character and story work within its own context then you don't question the details too much, anyway Bond's hot so who cares!

Totally agree with you, Ang. The last couple of Bonds (and last several Bond pictures) didn't interest me in the least. If you haven't seen "Casino Royale" (and Damon admitted he hadn't) then you can't fully appreciate what a makeover Bond's had. :)

On the other hand, if I hadn't seen the latest installment I wouldn't talk about Bond in the first place. :?

The Damon clip was quite hilarious

I decided to check the competion (ha!) and watched the two first Bournes. They're ok, but I must say I got a little bit bored in the second one with the (car) chases going on and on and on and on and... Also, the guy himself is such a man without qualities because of the amnesia thing that he seems like a bore. There doesn't seem to be that much going on behind those eyes... I also agree heartily with the people who recommeded that Paul Greengrass should be given a steadi-cam!

But without CR, I probably would have been all over the place for those two movies...

It does seem odd to talk about something you have no first hand knowledge of. Why not just say I don't know?

Bond vs. Bourne? Not even a contest as Bond would wipe the floor with Jason (and I like Matt Damon, but still..) And the wiggly camera work in Bourne made me carsick, something I can't say ever happened in a Bond flick. I think the source material for Bond is really rich and there's a lot of character development that Bourne just doesn't have.
Or maybe I'm just prejudiced because of He Who is Unbearably Hot  :
