I agree, but I think we will be out of luck. :(

Unfortunately Hollyweird doesn't see pieces like this as entertainment (no sex, no death, no laughs, no nudity, no cgi) and as it's Hollyweird where Daniel gets his roles these days, then we got no chance.

Alan Bates use to make some large productions, then would throw in "art films". These movies would play in the "foreign movie theatres" and would not be advertised, only reviewed. Those movies of his were where his acting came through. The general public didn't know how good he was and never really made it big over here.

I know DC is a superb actor and am dying for him to find some scripts-- projects he can disappear in to and show us how deep he really is. I know there is a talent in there that hasn't been tapped yet.
"It's when things are unclear and when you don't know what you're doing--that's when things are difficult." Daniel Craig

If anyone has not seen this and can get BBC4, I really recommend it!!

In this Daniel was doing the kind of heavily artistic work we are unlikely to see him doing ever again. It's a piece where you need to engage your brain as well. Not much in the way of eye-candy, but a feast in terms of his pure acting skill.

It's a gem, a real work of art.
I thoroughly agree! The acting by Stephen Rea, Francesca Annis and Daniel is outstanding in this excellent TV adaptation of Michael Frayn's play Copenhagen. It is one of my favourite performances from Daniel and he really gets to demonstrate his ability as an actor. I hope he will do more work like this in the future.

LOL - I just got into trouble opening a spoiler thread for 23, so no, I don't think so. sorry...
Maybe with each post we could put which country it relates to.
Doesn't really help. I get pinged when there is an update to the thread, but 90% of the time it's not something that I can see anyway. hence the suggestion. We could just follow the ones that apply.
Hi. I'm C, and I'm a Craigaholic.

Maybe (hopefully!) in the future when his body has gone flabby and people have stopped drooling over him.....then he will have to return to what he does best.

JEC, good acting/bad body can always be appreciated by watching Ernest Borgnine movies. Danny Boy can stay out of that club  .

On a more serious note - its one of his best assets, that he has it both - the talent AND the looks and Tattoo might be or surely is a step closer to have it both again, I think. :D Its short on action and heavy on atmosphere and a need to dive into the characters...
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

NO HE'S NOT, JEC! He is forever going to be ripped and look just like this:

All he needs to do is stay away from tattoo parlors. Enough is enough with that. It's okay if his knees go though; I'll still have mine

Oh, and regarding showing his acting talent in an indie-type movie, DH is the one. It's just like his older movies only with a perfect bod. He shows a full range of emotions and doesn't play a tough guy.
