Pierce Brosnan talks A&E miniseries 'Bag of Bones' and Daniel Craig's Bond

Pierce Brosnan is making his way back to the small screen.

The Irish actor stars in the four-hour A&E miniseries "Bag of Bones." The miniseries is a supernatural thriller based on a best-selling novel by Stephen King.

Brosnan plays Mike Noonan, a bestselling novelist trying to cope with writer's block and his grief after losing his wife Jo. He returns to their old lakeside home in Maine and befriends a young widow named Mattie (Melissa George) and her daughter Kyra (Caitlin Carmichael). Check out a preview here.

Mike is also plagued by nightmares and mysterious ghostly visitations from Sara Tidwell (Anika Noni Rose), a blues singer whose spirit lingers in the house.

"I haven't done TV in a good number of years," Brosnan admits in an interview with CNN. The actor had a few roles in several miniseries in the early 90s after his regular role on the television series "Remington Steele" came to an end in 1987.

"But I've been saying to my agent, 'Look, please do not rule out TV. I enjoy it, I started my career there, it's such fertile ground.' So, I got 'Bag of Bones,'" he added. "The timing was great, I love Stephen King ... I'd done one of his short stories a long time ago, called 'The Lawnmower Man.'"

He is also a big fan of the miniseries' script. "I think it's better than the book. I found the book, at times, kind of slow and I thought the script had such a snap to it," he said. "You enjoy the sharp left turns that come at you."

The actor, who played James Bond in three films before Daniel Craig took over the role in 2006's "Casino Royale," also said Craig does a "magnificent job" as the famous spy.
"He's a tough dude," he added. "Big competition with 'Bourne Identity' and one thing or another. He'll be right as rain."
Craig will reprise his role as Bond for the 23rd film in the franchise titled "Skyfall." The new movie will be directed by Sam Mendes. Javier Bardem plays a villain.

"Bag of Bones" airs as a two-day event on Sunday, December 11 and Monday, December 12, at 9 p.m. on each night on A&E.

Oh, if I knew it would go that low, I would have bought it! Sigh.

Nasty feature about Daniel in this week's US Weekly magazine, second page...

Daniel Craig: Grumpy old man
headline: License to be a Pill! This Brit, 43, is always in a snit

...Complete with an unflattering pic and quotes taken out of context to make him sound like a total asshole. Even a quote "I never liked Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan much."

I always feared this for him when he wouldn't play nice with the media. But oh well, I doubt he cares. Still I hate to see him mocked and made to look like an asshole in the press.

That's really bad. Really, really bad. And of course he never said that unless he was joking. Crazy. But whatever, I guess. It doesn't really matter.

I know, when I saw it I just thought...this is awful.

He's said on several occasions that Connery was his favorite Bond, so basically this article is just trying to tear him down by painting him as an ass.

Of course, US Magazine lives and breathes by the kardashian saga and carries Kardashian articles every issue, so I suppose this is their revenge.

Will Critics' Choice Nominations Overlap with Oscar Nominations Again? (Analysis)
THR's awards expert Scott Feinberg dissects the meaning of today's big announcement from the BFCA, one of the most reliable predictors of the Oscars.

......................
Other semi-snubs: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo failed to make it into the best picture or best director (David Fincher) races, which it would probably have been more likely to do with this voting body than any other, since Fincher is a longtime critics' favorite.

I really don' think GQ, a reputable mag can quote him on something like that if he didn't say it. That would be slander? or is it libel ?

This video is intriguing in its own way. Is he sarcastic? or trying to pull our leg?
