Thanks Mel-DC for finding this gem, and Elaine for making it available to all of us!
Did you catch that delightful laugh at the end, and the tidbit "if you're asking me if I take my clothes off - I might" he says!

Total Film ranks Daniel Craig #5 in "The Hottest 100 People In Hollywood Right Now", and this is what thay say about him:

5 DANIEL CRAIG - ACTOR
As snugly as Craig fitted into that tuxedo – and his 007 is a definite 21st-Century vision – it’s quite impossible to see the 40 year old simply as ‘Bond’. For so long a solid support player, Craig suddenly looks the real deal: animal charisma, muscular acting force, frosty vulnerability, sly wit and probably the only man the wrong side of 40 who can look cool in a pair of too-small blue swimming trunks. And Craig has two other aces: chameleon versatility and sheer workrate. In the 12 months since Casino Royale, he’s played a gay death-row killer (Infamous), a sci-fi scientist (The Invasion – sssh...) and a warlord professor (The Golden Compass). DC’s always been impossible to pigeon-hole. Now, he’s impossible to ignore.
What’s next? Bond 22 is just one of four movies Craig has slated for 2008. Ed Zwick’s WWII drama Defiance will keep his star power blazing, but brace for his turn as the devil made flesh in I, Lucifer. Typecasting? Pah.

These are the ones above Daniel:

#1 - Edward Norton
#2 - Jude Apatow
#3 - Brad Pitt
#4 - Steven Spielberg
Edward Norton!!!!!

Good for you
      I am still scratching my head about this one. :? Nothing against Mr. Norton, just couldn't quite figure out what the ranking was based on.

Yes girls I am glad Norton is #1 but honestly I agree with magch is not very clear how the ranking was made. I do not think Norton deserves #1, as Brad Pitt doesn't deserve #3.

According to the magazine the criteria was:

The Hottest 100 People In Hollywood Right Now

HOW TOTAL FILM CHOSE…

You wouldn’t believe the blood, sweat and swearing that went into compiling this list. The rule was simple, really: the Total Film team had to believe each person would make a dynamic difference to the movies you – the reader – will be watching in 2008 and beyond. So, we chose innovators over icons (sorry, Clint) and fresh talent over old favourites. The result is a cutting-edge compilation of the most exciting and innovative filmmakers, stars and – yes – even suits, working today. Hell, there’s even an agent in here.

But my two cents is that Total Film editors are hardcore fans of Fight Club (ranked this film as "The greatest film of our lives" in 2007) so they have a soft spot for Pitt and Norton

Thanks for the explanation, Anesidora. Even though I may still not quite agree with the ranking but at least I underdstand the reason behind it now.

Are there paparazzi(sp?) in Panama? Would be fantastic to see some photos. Thanks for keeping us up to date on DC's whereabouts!

they might not be able to get to the resort for photos

usually, resorts in central and south america have armed guards all over the place

gates, cameras, guard dogs, walls

This is definitley not news - but interesting - if you want to know about the shooting of the boat scenes in Venice.

http://www.spirityachts.com/sy-news-Casino_Royale.htm

..and this is one of the few sentences, where Daniel is mentioned and it just again fits perfectly

Now we are again in the realms of ‘Co-ordination’. When the Police heard ‘Cut!’ they thought that meant let the traffic go, so as Daniel gave me the wheel we both looked back towards the bridge. He said something I never thought I’d hear an International Film Star say and then I said much the same...! You know the bit in the cowboy films when the Indians come over the hill, whooping and hollering, all dust and hooves flying... well that was what it was like. A solid mass of vaporetto’s, water taxi’s, gondola’s, barges and assorted rowing boats, all in a hurry and all heading straight for us. How we got back to our berth without mishap is testament to the superb boat handling of the Venetians and a fair pinch of luck. A crowded start line at Cowes will never seem quite so scary again
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

Well, the likelihood of the BOnd team staying indoors to shoot in Panama is very very unlikely. They do all the studio stuff here in England, they'll most likely be out on location in Panama. So..my guess is that we will start to get a little more set photos now, like when CR came to the Bahamas we got a ton of new pics. Remember?

CRAIG SICK OF 'DIFFICULT' REPUTATION

JAMES BOND star DANIEL CRAIG is sick of journalists labelling him "difficult" - because it nearly cost him his role as 007. The British actor claims he nearly didn't get the part of the superspy as film company MGM Studios had reservations about hiring him - fearing he would refuse to fulfil promotional duties for Casino Royale. The 39-year-old, who has started filming his second outing as Bond in Quantum Of Solace, hates his moody media image - insisting he is a friendly person. He says, "When I was making Bond (Casino Royale), the film company were nervous that I wasn't going to any press, as that's my reputation for some reason. "I don't think that's true, it's just lazy journalism; they want to paint me as someone difficult. I think I'm quite nice, but maybe I'm delusional. There is no point making Bond if you're not going to sell it."
