I read today, in one of many newspapers offered in underground, that "DC asked Satsuki in mariage (while they were on holydays in Italy) because she proudly show a huge dimond ring offered by DC, at the Golden Compass Premiere."

True?!

It's a goodie and would be nice for to get it for keeps - I have no clue of how to extract a soundfile. So, our specialists - I'm sure I'm not the only one begging!

I posted this also in Guarded man -thread (or what ever it was called) in the General discussions...

Here is the link for downloading this radio interview. Sorry, not the greatest sound quality, but it's my first go at this. It's a zipped .wav file.

I just managed to grab it as an MP3 file: http://www.sendspace.com/file/bckxn1
Can't hurt to have both options, so there's a better chance that at least one of them won't get deleted for copyright reasons

I'm not a fan of Ted Casablanca's Awful Truth gossip column on the E! Online site, but here's a tidbit that caught my eye today. It was accompanied by a picture of Daniel and Satsuki at the "Golden Compass" premiere.
'Kay, you stud-cake Bond boy, you, Mr. Craig—we are veddy worried here at the Awful Truth, also known as Fallen Heartthrob World Headquarters. And, yes yes yes, just yesterday we showed off your amazingly tired, pale puss in a fairly pathetic Do Me Meter, which you barely passed. So? What the ef's up? At The Golden Compass premiere in London, why do you look like you're taking your "date," who appears to work nights as a makeup artist at the local mortuary, to the 2007 Vampires Ball? Could either of you look more booby, bloodless and otherworldly unattractive? What happened to the beefy thing rising from the sea, dripping in testosterone, you once were, Danny-baby? Who's this pansy-embalmed imposter masquerading in prissy-boy's clothing? Get a tan! Unbutton something! Hit the gym! Come back, you Brit he-man, we miss ya somethin' fierce.
I do have to admit that I thought Daniel looked bored and glum in all the pictures I've seen so far. He looked especially stiff in the pictures with Nicole Kidman and only slightly more relaxed with Satsuki.

My rational self knows it must be difficult and tiring to say cheese for 50 zillion photographers taking the same dang picture -- but the other part of me wonders if he was having an off night and couldn't be arsed to smile. :?

Of course, it really doesn't matter much either way. I still want to see the movie (and I have two young allies in my household expressing the same wish. Kids rock.)

Ouch , Ted was funny . Sats had a great smile for a change and ruined the look with the eye makeup . I think Dan is entitled to an off day . He is doing a big push for a movie he has a small part in
. Sam Elliot seems to manage a smile. he probably has a bigger part and is getting less attention .

I agree, he did seem to be having an off day, but we all have them right? Who knows, maybe he just had an argument with his mother or something. I certainly have off days at work, but it's only in front of 10-30 people, not millions!! I really disliked Satsuki's eye make-up...I think it made her look hard, but I did like her dress! Not that my opinion counts for anything...

I would guess that Daniel doesn't care much wha't written in the tabloids....if he even reads them!

Remember - after the Bond premiere it was "The Grumpy Bond" all over the papers and this just hasn´t changed. Its the same attitude when presenting an award. He´s never had any very good notes after the bigger events. One could think, it should be easy to crack a smile or two in order to not get bashed as moody - that is, if you indeed do care.

edit - after looking through the pics again - Satsuki is actually smiling a lot, Daniel sometimes. So perhaps in order to get it right, he would need to grin like an idiot ALL the time.

I remember an article from the beginning saying "They´ll never make a marketing man out of Craig". They trusted him with all the press wohoo for Bond and he did an incredible job.

I personally hate to read this idiotic and again insulting crap from the papers and just out of egoism I would like him to care just a bit. One the other hand, one has to ask - is there a way to do this right? Probably not - and then its better, he is doing it the way, he feels comfortable with.

...on the overall, I can understand, that the presses handling of him doesn´t lead anywhere near to him liking them more. If it was me, I certainly would detest them and probably show that, too.
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

I wonder if he smiles less than other male starts at the photocalls... and my guess is that probably not. But for some reason he is being questioned all the time. He is probably more sheer than other people... you can see in his face how he feels. And I rather prefer this than other people that just put their masks on and act as robots. Give me naturality any time!

The press is probably pissed off because he shows he dislikes the media frenzy. They prefer actors that act also in the interviews being polite and nice all the time no matter what stupid questions they are asked; media do not like criticism... they are just perfect!. They prefer actors that jump into the spiral of self-promotion and airing his personal lifes.

I only hope that all the money he will be receiving in the near future and the fact of working so many years in big films like Bond ones do not transform him and make him become absorbed into the corrosive world of celebrities.

Daniel Craig is back.

Expressen met up with the star and talked about his role in the big adventure film of the year, his new Bond commitment - and why he doesn't like Ingmar Bergman.
- "But I'm a huge fan of Lukas Moodysson", Craig says.

The grand adventure "The Golden Compass" is expected to be the big blockbuster this Christmas. Daniel Craig - these days known to the world as James Bond - plays the part of Lord Asriel in this first part of the trilogy, based on Philip Pullman's bestsellers.
- To me Lord Asriel is a classic english gentleman who has lost everything and who now has to gather enough money to be able to carry out his plans.

The opposite to Bond
In his tweed suit and beard he appears to be the straight opposite to James Bond in "Casino Royale".
- But the beard is real. Do you really think I would allow them to put a fake beard on me? Never!

Seriously. How tired are you of being called "Mr Bond" and that people walk up to you and say "shaken, not stirred"?
- Actually, no one does that. But that's only because they know that they'd get punched, haha! (Laughing)

Gives no hints
The new Bond film is currently named "Bond 22" (working title), and the filming starts in January. Craig is very careful when he gives hints about the film:
- "We've been to Italy and filmed some during a horse race, it was spectacular. We have all the ingredients needed to make this film better than the last one, it's now up to me to make sure that happens.

"I don't want to stand still"
Daniel Craig hopes to work behind the camera in the future as a producer, but the master director Ingmar Bergman is not a favourite of his.
- "I've never been a big admirer. He's more like the directors' favourite. As an actor I've never thought that standing still for three hours is what acting is about."

However, he has another swedish favourite:
- "I'm a very big fan of Lukas Moodysson. He's fantastic.
Scandinavian film overall is something I like very much."
The swedish premiere of "The Golden Compass" is December 7th.

Ouch!
The classic story, put 'em up on a pedestal and then tear 'em down.

This is what annoys me about the tabloids... we have no idea from this story what question was put to Daniel (whether it was about Satsuki or his daughter or something else)... :x :x :x
yeah and the reasoning behind it is ridiculous. That if someone walks down a red-carpet with you you have to be willing to give their life story to whoever asks. Maybe if he was selling his life to Hello magazine and OK magazine, fair enough, those people bring it upon themselves, but he's not. She's there at these functions as his guest not as the main attraction, the media don't have any right to her life.

Well as long as the Guardian doesn't start bashing him I guess he can live with it...
Pretty much - they both specialise in the 'build 'em up, knock 'em down' approach, as Elaine says...
...and as if to prove our point, here goes the Sun:

007 Craig is caught smiling

idiots :?
As far as I know though, Sun and Mirror never helped in "building him up", they both were prominent in the anti-Craig campaign. Obviously they haven't learned one bit. I don't think they are doing themselves much of a service with this, so just let them.

But the ring, seems so much bigger. A solitaire. And then there's the plaster. Someone wrote perhaps they're even married although I doubt it. More like engaged which is possible because I think she may want some security and he may feel it is time to give a bit of security but by his responses in recent articles, commitment by marriage may still take some time.

I must admit, he does look sulky like he did in BAFTAs. Maybe he was just tired since he had to attend to many interviews. And he seems so much slimmer.
