Oh. In a way I like him, but why to tell what would have been.... As far as I remember he wasn't in the mix when Daniel auditioned for Bond... Or I'm mistaken

From what I remember he auditioned for Golden Eye but lost against Brosnan. He was considered again after Brosnan but lost against Daniel then.

When he talkes about Daniel I think he just wanted to express that although Daniel had objections and some negative thoughts about taking on Bond, Daniel overcome them but he Purefoy was seen as the one who was almost Bon for years to come.

Yep. Maybe you are right. But I don't think he was really close to become Bond.

Apparently Wes Anderson is doing a new film in Rome. I think Daniel would be terrific in one of his films. Its interesting that Anderson has cast a lot of actors from Craig's era as Bond. So he's clearly familiar with Daniel's work.
