James Bond fans impressed by Quantum of Solace trailer
Veronica Schmidt

It begins with the distinctive voice of Dame Judi Dench, ends with a gun shot fired by star Daniel Craig and already has film fanatics enthralled.

In true Bond style, the new Quantum of Solace trailer is packed with improbable action, beautiful women and brooding looks.

In 2 minutes and 11 seconds, the clip takes in a high-speed car chase, airborne combat, gun fire, a fist fight and an ambitious motorbike stunt.

Then, there’s a ferocious fire, speedboat stunts and, of course, the come hither glances of new Bond girl Olga Kurylenko.

Promising an epic film, the dramatic trailer has set the internet buzzing. Fans who pounced on the YouTube posting were all but unanimous in their approval.

“This is by far the best Bond trailer of all!” wrote one.

“I have goosebumps! Excellent trailer!” said another.

Despite a string of bad luck during filming - star Craig was injured twice on set and a stuntman was seriously hurt while shooting a car chase scene - the 22nd Bond film is expected to be a hit when it is released on October 31.

Here is a bit of the fans comments / thez are pretty much the same / almost ALL are very positive :D

Everything about this movie and craig just screems cool. It's like steve mcqueen's spirit has engulfed craig's body and we have this super cool actor, rocking our socks off.

Sean who?
George who?
Moore who?
Timothy who?
Pierce who?

Yep, Daniel Craig is deffintley the ultimate Bond, and this trailer is AWESOME! Everything is perfect, Greene looks like he's shaping up to be an amazing villian. He just tells Bond that he knows who he is and he isn't scared of him. Pure menace and class. I was at first skeptical about Ogla's acting, but after this trailer I can see what a great acttress she actually is, and the chemistry between her and Craig seems wonderful. The dialoge seems very well scripted and clever, and that falling through the glass shot is mind blowing!

More than super cool as one of you put it. Craig is really making an effort 'be' James Bond, in the action scenes, and dialogue, he brings that past Bond we have seen in Dr. No to life again.
Ruthless, focused and determined.

Public debut of `Quantum of Solace` set for London straight after royal premiere

Quantum Of Solace - 11-09-08

The world's first public screening of new Bond film Quantum of Solace is to take place at this year's London Film Festival, organisers have announced to the BBC

It will take place on 29 October at the Odeon West End - the same night as the film's world premiere.

The festival will open with director Ron Howard's Frost/Nixon, based on interviews given by the disgraced former US president to Sir David Frost.

Penelope Cruz and Omar Sharif are among the stars expected to attend this year.

The 52nd London Film Festival is due to take place in the capital from 15 to 30 October.

The announcement of the Bond premiere coincides with the release of a second trailer for Quantum of Solace, six weeks ahead of the film's arrival in UK cinemas.

It is the first time a new Bond movie has featured in the festival's line-up.

"It's great news for us," artistic director Sandra Hebron told the BBC News website, adding the public premiere was the result of "very serendipitous timing".

First `Quantum of Solace` TV spot airs in the USA

Quantum Of Solace - 11-09-08

With eight weeks until its premiere, the marketing campaign for the upcoming James Bond film "Quantum of Solace" made its debut on US television last night.

On the same day that the film's theatrical trailer hit the internet, the first "Quantum of Solace" TV spot aired on FOX during the season premiere of J.J. Abram's new show "Fringe".

The 30 second spot uses a lot of the clips from the theatrical trailer, but there are some new additions including some punchy dialogue from the film's villain Dominic Greene.

They also showed a teaser at the end of Access Hollywood last night. I wish they would tease better, since I only caught it because I was surfing the channels. Not that I haven't already seen it dozens of times!

I read it over at Empire and people's opinions are rather different. Someone's saying it'll be available for general public, some - not ...
The best thing about the London fest is that Eva will be there and there is also a family premiere of Dakota Blue's "Secret of Moonacre" scheduled so there is a definite posibility to see them at the Qos prem.
As I devoted fan of reunions of all kinds Im extremely pleased at that prospect.

Some bits from Guardian blog
Not long now until we announce the winning questions we asked you to pose for our forthcoming fan-led chat with Daniel Craig. In the meantime, here's the first full length trailer for Quantum of Solace, featuring our first proper look at Mathieu Amalric as Dominic Greene, and Olga Kurylenko as Camille.

What we know so far about Quantum of Solace is that it picks up straight after the end of Casino Royale, with Bond damaged and dangerous following the death of Vesper Lynd. The hunt for the organisation which blackmailed and eventually killed her leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, where Greene is involved in a plot to control the continent's water supply. That man you see being interrogated by Bond at the start is Mr White, the villain 007 tracked down to his villa on the shores of Lake Como in the final scene of Casino Royale.

It's always hard to read much from a trailer, but the film looks to have maintained its predecessor's darker tone under new director Marc Forster. And Craig is looking more and more like the perfect Bond for this particular strand of the secret agent's ongoing adventures: apart from anything else, he seems to have aged visibly in the last two years, usefully matching the scarring effect of his character's recent experiences.

Quantum of Solace is out here on October 31, although the London film festival has just announced it will present the first public screening directly after the movie's world premiere in Leicester Square on October 29. Let us know what you think of this one.

New York City may feature as a location in the 23rd James Bond film according to reports citing Daniel Craig and producer Barbara Broccoli...

Bond 23 Heading To New York?
10th September 2008

As is the norm for the James Bond franchise, thoughts are already turning to the 'next' film even though the upcoming "Quantum of Solace" is still weeks away from its theatrical release.

The untitled 23rd movie in the franchise, dubbed 'Bond 23', is in the early stages pre-production.
New York City
Variety columnist Liz Smith reports that this week she bumped in to Daniel Craig and producer Barbara Broccoli in the trendy eatery Primola in New York City's upper east side.

According to her column, "Daniel and Barbara talked about the next 007 epic, part of which will be filmed - for the very first time - in New York. Primola itself will have a little cameo."

Above: Primola in New York City

Smith may want to bone up on her Bondology, as Roger Moore's 1973 outing "Live And Let Die" shot on location in the city. The last time 007 actually set foot in the USA was in the Florida Keys in "Licence To Kill" (1989). Miami featured in "Casino Royale" (2006), but apart from some second unit establishing shots, the action was actually filmed in the Czech Republic and the UK.

In the literary world, Ian Fleming had James Bond visit New York in Live And Let Die, Diamonds Are Forever, Goldfinger, and the short story 007 In New York.

New Director
"Quantum of Solace" director Marc Forster has confirmed he will not be back for the follow-up adventure. "If I would ever do a big movie again in that size," he said, "it has to be my own franchise, which I would create from scratch, which I would cast, create the look and really create the franchise on my own."

Craig Continues
How about 007 himself? "I want them to stand alone and be good films," Daniel Craig said. "As long as that continues, then we'll keep making them. And if it doesn't, then we'll stop." Bond 23 will be Craig's third outing as 007, and according to his reported contract, the last he will be obliged to make. After that, he's allegedly optioned for a fourth, as was Pierce Brosnan for "Die Another Day".

Studios Stake Claims To 2010
With demands for ever-more-elaborate special effects, and the expectation of bigger and better megapic events, studios are being forced to plot out their release strategies even farther into the future. Studio chiefs have already staked out key releases for 2010 - and 007 is already a headliner. Many studios, with dates lined up for 2009 and the year after that, have set marketing and merchandising plans in motion and have started talks with visual effects houses. In many cases, the only thing they lack are a director, stars, script or even a story outline. Whilst there was no mention of exactly what the 2010 date is for Bond 23, the report implied that Sony have put their metaphorical beach towel on a preferred sun lounger to keep rival tentpole movies at bay.
In contrast, producer Michael G. Wilson told reporters in July that he expects the Bond production machine to take a breather after work on "Quantum of Solace" is completed. Wilson said he expects to pause for at least a year, meaning the 23rd James Bond film may be released later than the expected two year cycle. "I need a break for a little while," he said. This puts the Sony plan of 2010 in some doubt, but opens the possibility of a summer 2011 release. The last time a 007 adventure opened in the summer was 1989's "Licence To Kill".

Interesting scoop MK. Pre-production already for Bond 23. I'm all for Dan being on US soil for as long as possible.
