Lu wrote:wow, I can't believe the buzz for this movie already. It is going to be SO HUGE.

When CR came out, no one knew if it would be good or bad or awful. Now everyone knows that the 007 franchise is back on track and Daniel is a great Bond. They will be flocking to see this. Sony must just be pinching themselves now, that they got Daniel to sign on for the Bond role.
I agree Lu... So much for the "jinx"!!!  Personally, I think Babs Broccolli is going to be trying to persuade Daniel to stay on for as long as possible. Not just 'cause of the fact that he brings so much cashola to Sony / Eon but also because he does the job so well. I continue to count the days until October 31. It seems to make the time drag by wishing it would hurry up and get here. Just as long as I get my tickets for the opening day, I'll be a Happy Bunny!!!! :D

My fav part is of course this
"I can't give anything away about the storyline away but I can tell you it's going to be a great film," added the busy racing driver
but the latest rumour that Mathis will die in Bond's arms got me very upset
Wasn't Mathis a snitch anyway. On Le Chiffre's pay roll?
That isn't really sure... ;)

Saw the big-screen trailer for QOS before "The Dark Knight" and it just about gave me the vapors. Somebody apparently got the memo that fangirls demand a shirtless scene -- hallelujah. Aside from that it looks like it's going to be a great rollercoaster ride. Can't wait for November! :D

I thought LeChiffe said "your friend Mathis is actually my friend Mathis" when he was standing over Bond having his henchman dig the "bug" out of Bond's arm right after Bond crashed his car.

Royal Film Performance opts for Harry Potter over James Bond

It had been rumoured for a few weeks that the premiere for the upcoming James Bond film would not be handled by the The Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund, as per "Casino Royale" in 2006. Now that has been confirmed by BBC News.

This year's Royal Film Performance, which will benefit the CTBF, will host the world premiere of "Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince" on 17 November. The sixth Potter instalment will receive its premiere in front of a yet-to-be announced member of the Royal Family.

No details have been released of the "Quantum of Solace" premiere. The film opens nationwide in the UK on October 31st 2008.

Young Bond author Charlie Higson comments on the `Quantum of Solace` song

You can’t fault Jack White and Alicia Keys for courage, reports The Times. The White Stripes frontman and the Grammy-laden R&B singer have recorded the title song for Quantum of Solace, the first duet on a Bond film soundtrack, it was announced yesterday.

The pair’s musical credibility, commercial popularity and diverse global fanbases attracted the producers and will certainly help to shield Keys and White from the inevitable ravings of the notoriously fierce 007 aficionados.

But it remains to be seen whether they will escape the curse of the Bond song. Frenzied speculation surrounds the choice of musical performer for every 007 film, providing acres of carefully orchestrated free publicity and fuelling pub debates.

Amy Winehouse, Duffy, Grace Jones and Leona Lewis were all strongly tipped this time around, and they may yet be grateful to have missed out. Very few of the artists who have recorded title songs for the longest-running series in cinema have gone on to greater success after their brush with Ian Fleming’s debonair spy.

Charlie Higson, author of the Young Bond novels and a self-confessed Bond junkie, said that the glory days of the stirring Bond tune were long gone. “There were five or six of them that were really fantastic in the early days, like Diamonds Are Forever, Goldfinger and You Only Live Twice, but I don’t think there’s been a true classic since Nobody Does It Better for The Spy Who Loved Me [in 1977].”

Of White and Keys, he said: “This pairing doesn’t sound that thrilling to me, but let’s not judge it before we’ve heard it. Think what they all said about Daniel Craig and look how good he turned out to be.”

I know...he did...

But I guess there is always the possibility that he was a "double agent" so to speak, and only pretended to be Le Chiffre's friend for some greater and loyal purpose...although he sure did land James in a world of pain.
