Pretty funny what people consider worth commenting on but then again Esquire is about clothes right? Been years since I worried about knot to tie ratios! kGermangirl wrote:

Some critics have rated Skyfall the best James Bond movie ever. That's the magic of Heineken. Tomorrow, we interview Mister Bond.

The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

It’s almost getting boring to say but Daniel Craig is an excellent Bond. He’s as believable jumping off trains as he is wooing the ladies, and is a good enough actor that when asked to give a psychological performance of a man going through something of a midlife crisis, he does so with aplomb. He’s even surprising good at delivering puns.

He'll be in London this weekend . I'm going to inject great restraint and not walk past their house Saturday. Oh, but what if he's outside mowing the lawn shirtless??Germangirl wrote:JEC - your boy is coming homeSylvia's girl wrote:5m Lisa Snell ‏@lsnelly

Another great review
http://thefilmstage.com/reviews/review-skyfall/
Part of that greater something is Mendes’ cast, a congregation of talent that outshines every prior Bond picture by leaps and bounds. We could argue all day about whether or not Craig is the best James Bond (he is); what, ultimately, makes him so exemplary is the weight of real-world consequences that hangs over him, be it the haggard crevices in his face, the stride of his walk, or the communication of struggle that comes in being a reborn secret agent
But you know why he stands above his fellow 007s? Because he gives a goddamn performance and leaves the suave theatrics at home. This is not a well-oiled, world-traveling sex machine, but a government-employed killer – it’s something elemental that Craig taps into more strongly here than his first two turns

Great reactions from France, too.
In France, the reviews for SkyFall are also very very good. At least as ecstatic as for Casino Royale six years ago.
ECRANLARGE give 4/5

4.5/5 given by lexpress

video of critics opinions after showing (in french)...VERY POSITIVE REACTIONS.
1 critic does mention that it would have been the complete classic if the gunbarrel was at the start but still says it is -
"the best James Bond film!"

Haha, no. If I were in his 'hood anyway, I'm sure some sort of magnetic force would pull me to the street, but I'll be in central London. And fo only 2.5 days.Germangirl wrote:
