28. September

Well - the board is mostly full of the cell phone affair
Edit: Its pages and pages - the show is NOW ALL over the place. What could be better on opening night? :D

illuminadora @frazicus I love that Daniel Craig got into the heckling spirit as well.

BennettGreen Heh, the Hugh Jackman / Daniel Craig phone incident is quite funny. I hope I can maintain that kind of class one day.

· raindance2 daniel craig is in @toonses88 - just saw on tv someone in audience cell went off in middle of perf w/jackman-priceless quip from stage....

· billyk2373 LMAO telephone in audience interrupts Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig on stage in serious play. Handled really well

sLoLCfitness my husband is watching Quantum of Solace. he fell asleep. would it be wrong, when i sleep, to dream of Daniel Craig being my husband?

teerose17 Saw Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig today on B'way today in "A Steady Rain". Powerful performances by each of them.

s00zer Hugh Jackman AND Daniel Craig are doing a play. TOGETHER??? That, my friends, is pure perfection.

AliciaMarieBODY Daniel Craig is just sexy. Wow.

filmink Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig proved they can seriously act

ATarpey A Steady Rain last week was awesome. Apparently some people don't know about theatre manners tho

steveonbroadway A STEADY RAIN still top play earning $1,153,779 at 100.1% capacity. Average tix priced $134.55 - highest on Broadway

MCBuchanan Daniel Craig + Hugh Jackman = Class Acts | http://bit.ly/Xvyts

PatPalumbo Very psyched for A Steady Rain's Opening Night tonight. Fantastic performances! Def get a tkt, if you can!

dramaleague A Steady Rain opens tonight...to all of our friends working on the show, break a leg!

BWYNOW A Steady Rain opens tonight...starting a steady stream of revenue & theatre goers.

elkenyc "A Steady Rain" premiering tonight and I'm happy to have tix for 10/15 - Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig in 1 play! What a treat!

From Broadwayworld.com
"Jackman and Craig's accents are perfect."

Craig's is acceptable, if not a little exagerrated. Jackman's, on the otherhand, is subpar. He sounds like Hugh Jackman faking an American accent. He sure doesn't sound like any Chicago cop I know.

The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

I also think, its only is usual way of putting himself down - he could do Shakespeare every day of the week - no question about it in my book.
Hmm, think hard: could you take it? It would be a lot like watching The Rover as Aphra Behn is roughly the same time period and samish style as William S...

Sure, if he is the main character and on stage most of the time. No problem, as I get a thrill out of the way stage is different to movies. 3 hour marathon? I am all for it
Sharmaine and Cicero will do Hamlet - lets see, what they say - its supposedly 3 1/2 hours long

They showed the clip on The View and commented on it . And later on the show Harry Connick Jr. said he ignors it when he is in a play and gose on but Joy Bayhar ( who was in an earlier tweet , she tweeted when the show was over...guess she saw it so she could comment when Hugh was suppose to be on the show ) said how they are talking to the audience in the play s it didn't seem out of place" fourth wall" and all .

Their attempt war well received, I think, but that might also have to do with the fact, that they are addressing the audience all the time anyway - so this didn´t seem out of place.

JEC57 wrote: Those going to Broadway probably expect to be wowed by either amazing sets and action or by the stars. They got the stars in this.......and their "unexpected bonus" has been that Daniel actually can act ( ).

But putting it together from what everyone has written, this play needs concentration and a mind willing to work at the story. Audiences are sometimes lazy (one of the reasons why imo that QoS was not the hit that CR was.....it required more in the way of involvement rather than just watching), and a lazy mind is not going to get as much out of this because Huff is asking for a massive investment of mind and emotion.
OMG! You read my thoughts! Especially about QOS! It's a serious play and people I hope will read the reviews and prepare for it. Im sick of these comments about taking their shirts off :x They're mainly actors, sex symbol status is just a bonus :)
