According to Marketto, we can expect some news at 5pm today.
Apparently we will have to wait until the same time tomorrow.

Someone at MI 6 just said, that ABC announced, that Daniel is leaving Bond.
Seems more possible to me by the minute and that we might get this tonite
Dunno how to feel about it. If it his decision, because he feels, he has done what he could, I am ok, but if otherwise all the media and successor rumors made him do it out of " what the fuck" I am very sad for him. We will probably never know.
He says, it's big news now.

The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

Well, I'm not so sure. I think there have been a lot or misquotes form The Esquire article and that this might just be one of those.Germangirl wrote:Someone at MI 6 just said, that ABC announced, that Daniel is leaving Bond.

I still think that tonight may reveal some sort of Spectre marketing such as new posters etc..

The quote about Idris Elba was bad timing, but it proved to be more of an embarrassment for Anthony Horowitz and he has now issued an apology.Sylvia's girl wrote:The unfortunate quote from Anthony Horowitz regarding Idris Elba being too "street" to play Bond was bad timing - dragging it all up yet again.Germangirl wrote:They NEED to adress this topic.
Going back to the Esquire interview, I think that Daniel’s response to the inevitable question about whether Spectre would be his last film was entirely predictable. I don’t think that the producers want him to leave the franchise, but if he has already made the personal decision that he wants to quit as Bond, it wouldn’t be a good time to make an announcement just as the promotion for Spectre is starting in earnest. I think he probably wants to take a break and then consider his options. I guess a lot will depend on the success of Spectre, and who will be director for the next film (if there is one) and when this is likely to be. A lot of the stuff in the media about him quitting as Bond is just speculation and froth!

Yes, I agree, but there should be a statement of SOME kind imo.
What exactly does street mean?
If it means how I understand it, Daniel is street, too.
But on a whole, it's really ridiculous how you cannot treat the man like a normal human being just because he is black. Eguality indeed

Please Daniel, just one more Bond Ive read some of the comments over on MI6 and the most of them are very positive. Journalists have a habbit of exaggerating or putting more emphasis on a particular subject to draw readers in i.e Daniel leaving Bond. i am praying that thats not the news we will hear today. He needs a break! I reckon he will do one more and it will end his Bond era with a bang
Let's all breathe in and breathe out ... I really think Daniel is stubborn, proud and strong enough to not let his decisions be influenced by anything the media says or wants. Otherwise he would have fallen during the press & media-bash around Casino.
Maybe he feels that he's done all he could with the role and wants to leave at a high note and maybe all of this is a (even intentionally spread) press panic to push interest in the upcoming promotion weeks and has no piece of truth to it.
