Great find Jana! Fascinating read. As a whole, Spectre was flawed, but the elements, taken apart, were incredible.

Makes you realize how much Mendes, as well as DC, now inhabit Bond:

"Bond does not walk amongst us; he’s separated by a force field around him."

The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

Really good article! Bummer about the editing to change it from an age 15 to 12 :? . Maybe that's why I don't own the DVD.

To be realistic though it wasn't exactly a great movie... middle of the pack as far as a James Bond title goes for me. I own it for collection purposes only.

I bet the two scenes were major sexy time scenes. Bah.

At the pace at which they filmed the movie, no wonder DC wasn't exactly excited to say he'd do another one.

In the flat scene with Moneypenny, Bond was meant to be disturbed by a lover in his bed IIRC. I'm pretty sure this one got re-shot or at the very least it was edited to look different.

Also think the way Bond is getting dressed after being with Lucia looks weird too. There's Monica in amazing lingerie and there's Bond, buttoning up his jacket.

DC's comments also lead me to believe that he shed more skin and it was cut out but more for the sake of the Asian markets though.

I'm guessing the scene that pushed it into 15 territory over here was the torture scene - I'm pretty sure someone even spoke about that quite openly too. Even at a 12 it's pretty light - it's not a very pleasant scene. But if we're going to talk about "light" films in terms of certifications... Casino Royale is the most generous 12 I've ever seen. lol. Yikes.

F*** the asian market. The action scenes were tool ame to make a splash there anyway.

Of course we think that but we're not the people counting the pennies on the way to the bank. *Sigh*

Oh I know, it's like he slipped his weiner out of his y fronts and unzipped his trousers a bit and gave her a poke like that. For me it lessened the intensity of that scene. Wham bam, thank you mam.

Its weird, really weird, they did that. The supposed big love afair with "what's her name" is practically non existant.
