I don't know what it was, but something about his look that night made him look paunchy around the jowls.

Everything is better then the gaunt look for me - like, I am always happy to see him being a bit paunchy
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..
