When you see videos of group photocalls of his CR and post-CR movies, it looks like he sort of stage-manages. At Cannes when he and the cast of The Golden Compass were in front of photographers, you can see him looking offstage and calling for someone. So this positioning of SM may be the same thing.

There are still photographs, but I don't remember a video. I have to look for the photo.
