I think I've forgotten to answer your question of tailors in my family, Sharmaine. Yup, sort of countryside tailoring supplementing income from farming until the 1950's by my father's family as well as by my maternal grandmother... Also, I just heard that one of my paternal greatuncles had a tailor's shop in somwhere in BC. My father designed hats until the 1980's. I don't think I wore very many clothes bought from the shops until I got to be a teenager or something! I've dabbled with sowing and knitting myself... Clothes are cool!
