I was watching the SAG awards last night and Tom Wilkinson was nominated for " A Number" , so I looked it up and he did it with Rhys Ifans for HBO . Its not on dvd yet but I'm sure it will be eventually and then we know the story better even if it is not our guy .

HBO Signature Films: A Number Trailer with Rhys Ifans, but just interesting to here the dialogs and imagine DC doing them:

And a small article:
A Number opened in London in 2002 starring Michael Gambon and Daniel Craig.

Craig travelled with the play to New York in 2004 where Sam Shepard became his costar.

“A Number is a play you don’t just watch. You think about it. You talk about it,”

Recently there were some postings about a BBC recording of 'A Number' on another thread, I can't remember which.

The British Library in London has an audio recording of ‘A Number’ made in 2002.

I came across an item about British Library audio recordings made at the Royal Court Theatre in London over the past forty years.
See: http://britishlibrary.typepad.co.uk/eng ... brary.html

I then searched the British Library’s Sound and Image catalogue for Caryl Churchill’s ‘A Number’ and found that the Library holds a recording of the production staged on 3 October 2002 with Daniel and Michael Gambon, and directed by Stephen Daldry. (1CDR0025517 D1 PLAYBACK)

For material recorded prior to 2006, you have to make an appointment with the Listening and Viewing Service: http://www.bl.uk/reshelp/inrrooms/stp/s ... ening.html

It’s good to know that Daniel’s performance has been preserved for posterity. I may make a visit to the BL.

The best I can do is listen to the recording at the British Library and report back. I could make this my assignment for DtD. I'm not sure when I'll have time for a visit because I work full-time.

We have waited for so long - take your time. Maybe you talk to them about us and ask them, what is really possible to get. Can you rent the recording? Someone could read you through the recording it for us.
