I'm an investor in the show (long story I won't go into here).

It officially recouped as of October 18, and the investors were sent checks fully returning their nvestment about two weeks later (needing time for accounting and checkwriting).

In the seven weeks that followed, the show grossed over $1.1 million each week. If we call that $8 million, and the basic running costs (per the accounting statement I received) are $300K a week, that leaves an overage (not profit) of $5.9 million, of which about 40% goes to rent, royalties and the actors' percentage of the gross, leaving an actual net profit of about $3.5 million.

Thus, my meager investment of $25K should yield me a profit of $17.5K, which I am hoping to receive before Christmas.

So a return of about 65% in less than six months. Right now Chase Bank is offering me .65% in the savings account where this profit will be deposited. Quite a difference!

30. Fantastic performance

A tremendous performance by these two talented gentlemen. It can be difficult to watch Hollywood actors transition to the Broadway stage, yet these two men did it flawlessly. Daniel Craig was truly unrecognizable...in my opinion, he stole the show. At the end they auctioned off their (sweaty) undershirts, raising $40k+ for Broadway Cares. Well done!

re: 2010 Tony Predictions!

It's very possible that Hugh, Daniel and Jude will be too-distant memories for the nominators to put on the ballot. And I thought Daniel got more overall praise for his performance than Hugh did, even if Hugh seemed to charm everyone more in the BC/EFA campaigns. We'll see what happens. Either way, either Hugh alone or both of them will surely show up at the broadcast, maybe in a special skit recreating those undershirt auctions!

Star vehicles 'Hamlet' and 'A Steady Rain' close with strong numbers.
After a record-breaking Thanksgiving week, box office receipts returned to a more normal level, with numerous shows experiencing six-figure drops. Two bright spots were departing star vehicles: Jude Law’s Hamlet topped the magic $1 million mark in its final week at the Broadhurst Theatre, just missing the frontrunners list among grosses and ranking #4 in percentage of capacity. Likewise, A Steady Rain, which departs after a final charity performance, raked in almost $1.3 million in its final week at the Schoenfeld Theatre. (Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will certainly miss Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig, raised thousands for charity every night by auctioning their shirts during the curtain call.) Also making a big jump as the month of December began was White Christmas, which rounded out the $1 million club at the Marquis Theatre.

what it says is basically. that unless Daniel bothered, nobody would have..he was 1 year ahead of Hugh and had found something, that geinually excited him and everybody.

During the Real Steel presentation at Comic-Con this morning, actor Hugh Jackman revealed that director Steven Spielberg is interested in adapting the Broadway play A Steady Rain into a feature.

Well, I think its save to say, that Spielberg is keen on DC. Guess it might be more of a timing problem.
