Oh, I am quite sure, SHE really lives there 24/6...I thought after hitting the 40, he should have 1 day offhoneyjes wrote:Looks like Sats will be going to the naughty corner for real.
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..
How could I resist?
I was ready to get online to the forum tonight but the BAFTAS were showing on EIBC (don't ask me what that stands for)....so of course, I had to watch. Yep, DC's swagger was unmistakable.....but this time, less Bond-like, more Craig-like, even with the background riff from QoS going on....oh, yeah...he looked quite slim on the telly and his very short hair made his ears more prominent but he read his lines perfectly. Saw the hug with Kate Winslet.
Very prim and proper until Mickey Rourke let off a few "F" bombs and then Mick Jagger, bless him....took a comic turn - liked the bit about the Pitt Family doing the "Sound of Music"....LOL
Loved the tribute section for all actors, writers, directors and technical crew that have passed on......RIP Paul Newman among many others including Roy Schieder, Sydney Pollack and Cyd Charisse (names I remember). Strange not to see Heath's portrait in the tribute but it was directly on the heels of Heath receiving a post-humous BAFTA....although bittersweet.....I still think his portrait should have been included in the lineup anyway.....ah well.
Can't help but make comparisons but all in all - a dryer show than the bling-bling Oscars but that's Hollywood for ya.....also, not sure if this was a common thing, but there are no performances in the BAFTA's - usually, the 5 songs nominated are performed on stage at the Oscars.
Looking forward to Oscar night on the 22nd.
