I saw the clip of them walking up to the stage and the first name Oprah uttered was "Hugh Jackman"!!!! But hey, from a distance, how would you know that was Daniel, especially with that "stache"? The more I think about it, the more I wonder why it was even necessary for Daniel to sport a stache for this role at all. I'm starting to think he should have portrayed it as himself, in his true British accent, as bold and brash as Geordy in OFITN. There....I said it.

I don´t want to get into the way of discussing our get together - so an additional post about the craziness of the SD- From Broadwayworld
Is it still near impossible to get an autograph even if you see the performance that day?

Yes. Much better to get there with playbill in hand a day you did not see the show. I did it this afternoon and was successful. Both men were very nice and signed for the large crowd.

Talked to the security guard...they plan to do nothing about the crowds amassing before the current show is over. I had heard SD was nuts...but it was ridiculous with people that didn't see the show. I was among the first people OUT of the theater and the SD must have already had over a hundred people there. Nuts.

At Equus, they had two lines....and if you couldn't produce a ticket to THAT performance you had to stand behind one barricade, and with a tix you were behind a different one. It was up to the actors individually whether or not to "visit" the "fan crowd".

As one who has had a viewing of next to normal disturbed and who has friends who have had viewings of Superior Donuts disturbed by the loud screaming at that stage door, it would be nice if they would do something about the absurd crowds.

For no, if you are seeing the show there's no chance of getting anything signed after that performance. I was in the rear mezz rush seats thursday and was one of the first people out of the theatre but I was far far in the back. I came back the next day and got pictures and signatures from both.

But I really wish they would set up 2 barricades for ticket holders and just fans. Its not really all that fair because some people brought a ticket just for the reason of meeting Hugh and Daniel. And its almost impossible to do that with 100+ fans before the show even ends.

For the matinee I was across the street at Superior Donuts....you could hear the freakishly lound cheering for when each of them came out at stage door. Upon leaving Steady Rain (8pm) I was expecting throngs of folks at the stage door (NONE of whom had seen the 8pm show -- I was sitting on the aisle along the exit doors so among some of the first out) but I was NOT prepared for the huge amounts of POLICE....I must have passed 8 or 10 officers before I got to the corner at 8th.
For ZIB and other students

I grilled the box office guy about it yesterday. He said that the student rush tickets are $31.50 and they are set aside for students at every performance, so even if the show is sold out, there will be student rush tickets available in the morning.

I didn't ask him about the location, but if he told someone else they are in the last row of the mezz, then that's where they are.
It's last row only, I believe. This morning, only 7 or so people were there by 9:45.

I just got back from the box office. Here's the deal. Standing room isn't going to be available until after opening. I was there at 12:40 and there was one student rush ticket left. They're $31.50. He took my ID, copied my last name and told me to come back after 7:30 to pick up my ticket. I have no idea where my seat is located.

The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

Here's a report about Daniel wearing A Quantum Of Pornstache. Nothing new, but there's also a clip from Comic relief on this site and so I thought it might help .

Thanks GG, I read that too on BWW.com and from a friend of mine who frequently student rushes recommended that the earlier you get the better. I was going to try and student rush a couple other shows (Hamlet, Hair, maybe Next to Normal) however if there are better seats available for ASR and their available that night I'll get'm instead. I honestly don't mind paying extra to sit closer for this show; the others yes this one not so much :D

Wow, great idea for some but not for me. I wouldn't 'lower' myself (ha - like I'm somebody!) by paying to meet a celebrity. I could never live with myself.
