The 31-year-old French actress is famed for roles in movies such as 2006 James Bond picture Casino Royale.

Eva, who is currently promoting romantic drama Perfect Sense, admits her parts in films are rather sporadic because she has to feel passionate about a picture before signing on.

“I’m very picky, I love falling in love with things,” she told Total Film.

“That’s why maybe I don’t work as much as I should.

“I need to really be drawn to the character and like the director.”

Eva was attracted to Perfect Sense, which also stars Ewan McGregor, because it was so innovative. It tells the story of a chef and a scientist who fall in love as an epidemic stealing people’s sensory perceptions begins to spread.

“It’s very well written, very brave and very biting. I love the black sense of humour and I think the love story is very powerful,” she enthused.

The Smurfs 2 Already Has An August 2013 Release Date, But No Confirmed Cast

America, you must now reap what you sowed. The Smurfs is standing tall at the box office, with $128 million worldwide after just 2 weeks in release, despite the fact that it was critically loathed and is a blatant, pandering attempt to mine the 80s for nostalgic cash. America, you saw this movie and made it a hit, and now you've convinced them to make a sequel. According to Variety's Jeff Sneider, Sony has set a release date of August 3, 2012 for The Smurfs 2, snagging itself the first confirmed release date for the last month of that summer movie season.

That'll put Smurfs 2 out in theaters just a week after the planned July 26 release of Thor 2, and even more importantly, a solid month after the Despicable Me sequel scheduled for July 3. There's no word on any actors, voice or otherwise, set to return for the film, though given that they've managed to wrangle Jason Lee for the seemingly endless series of Alvin and the Chipmunks, Neil Patrick Harris might want to get busy filling up his schedule so he can bow out of this gracefully when Sony comes knocking. Katy Perry, on the other hand, seems to have enjoyed this red carpet opportunity so much that she probably won't mind returning for another round as Smurfette.

For more on The Smurfs and why you should be very, very ashamed of having allowed things to go this far, read Eric's review of the movie and hang your head in shame. And despite my opening paragraph, it's not just America's fault-- the movie has grossed nearly as much overseas as it has on these shores. We all have a lot to reckon with today.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Its all SO unjust. Such a ridiculous movie ( not that I saw it - going by the RT rating) - they want to make a fucking sequel

And another movie I loathed was The Town ( Ben Affleck :vomit:) - cant believe these third rate movies have had better success.....

BA is a turd. He uses the same jestures, facial expression, and tone of voice for every character that he plays. If it were not for Matt Dammon he would not have made it.

I liked 'The Town' and miss these kinds of movies nowadays. Renner was great and BA was okay for his standards. I laughed at BA when he cried in 'State of Play' even Robin Wright Penn was embarrassed in the press conference scene.

Sorry for me taking this totally off thread, but I dislike BA so much, I just won't see anything he's in. Exceptions - if he's ever in an Oscar-nominated film, I'll go, and I liked 'Good Will Hunting.' I don't think he can act, and I don't want to listen to his high-pitched voice for two hours...My, aren't I picky?

Daniel Craig's Smoking Struggle

Daniel Craig finds it a ''constant struggle'' to resist the urge to have a cigarette after giving up the habit.

Daniel Craig finds quitting smoking a "constant struggle".

The 'Cowboys and Aliens' actor - who married actress Rachel Weisz in a secret ceremony in front of just four people in New York in June - still "loves" cigarettes and finds it "very difficult" not to be tempted to return to the deadly habit.

When asked why he stopped smoking, he replied: "Because it's stupid, no offence ... yes I love it, it's dumb and it will kill you ... It's still a constant struggle, they always say you're an addict and you can never actually stop being a smoker.

"It's a horrible thing, it's a real addiction, very difficult."

The 43-year-old hunk is best known as the latest actor to play James Bond, and while he faced criticism when he was announced to play the iconic British spy in 2006's 'Casino Royale', he insists he doesn't feel "resentful" towards those unhappy with his casting.

When asked if he feels smug about starring as Bond, he told 'The Kyle & Jackie O Show' on 2Day FM: "No, not at all, there's no point is there, I'm not going to dwell on it, we made a good movie, it speaks for itself, I don't need to be resentful, I just get on with my life and be happy."

I've posted this here 'cos ot cover more than Bond. Apologies if it's already been posted..

Daniel Craig–raring to be James Bond again

LOS ANGELES—Daniel Craig is raring to be Agent 007 again. “We have a wonderful script, which I’m incredibly excited about, if not probably more so when I first read the ‘Casino Royale’ script,” Daniel disclosed in our recent interview with him.

For now, the much-awaited movie’s working title is “Bond 23.” “Sam Mendes is on board as director,” Daniel shared. “He’s working very hard to make everything come together with John Logan, who’s writing the script with him.”

“It has been a great break, but I’m ready to go again,” added Daniel who will costar with Judi Dench (as M) and a lineup of brilliant actors: Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem and Naomie Harris. He bared that filming begins in November.

Having done “Cowboys & Aliens,” which required a lot of stunts, and now, faced with the prospect of doing more in the next Bond film, Daniel was circumspect about the physical challenges of these roles.

“I’m 43 now,” said the British actor. “God knows—maybe I can keep this up for another couple of years. Then, I’m going to have to give this up, because I’ll already be too old to do this ‘jumping around and falling over’ stuff.” Wearing a short-sleeved black T-shirt that showed off his muscled arms, Daniel looked fit enough to be Ian Fleming’s beloved superspy for many more years.

“But, I enjoy the physicality of the roles,” Daniel clarified. “I always have. Even before Bond, I liked getting involved with as many stunts as possible.”

Reason

With a grin that softened the stare of his ice-blue eyes, Daniel volunteered, “I was joking the other day that the reason I got into this business is because I like pretending and falling over. I had a toy pump action Winchester when I was a kid. My friends and I used to go out to the sand dunes, and we’d pretend to shoot each other. How you rolled down the hill would score you good points. That’s why I wanted to become an actor! I’ve somehow managed to find a way into that.”

“As I grew older, I got more serious about it,” said the actor who appeared in well-received indie films before landing the plum Bond gig. “I enjoy doing theater and doing all those things—a path that has taken me down this route. I don’t seem to be able to get off it at the moment, but it’s a good place to be.”

On playing the iconic British secret agent, he said, “I’ve been lucky to land one of the best roles in movie history. If being Bond was all I did for the rest of my life, I’d be happy with that. Being Bond is a high-class ‘problem’ to have. I’ve always loved acting. Everything I’ve ever wanted to do is act. My biggest pleasure is the collaborative process, and I’ve just lucked out!

“In the last couple of years, MGM had a problem with making the next Bond movie,” he said, referring to that studio’s financial crisis that delayed the making of “Bond 23.” The issue was resolved when Sony Pictures stepped in to cofinance and distribute the movie. “But, the delay gave me space. I got to work with Jon Favreau on ‘Cowboys & Aliens.’

“Then, (David) Fincher called me up and asked if I would like to work on ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,’” Daniel continued. “It just worked! I couldn’t be luckier. They’re very different films. I don’t think about how big the movies are, how much they cost, and what they would do to my career. I just think about if a project is worth doing, and if I should grab the chance, because who knows what’s going to happen in a couple of years’ time?”

Asked if these are good times for him on a personal level, the private man, who married actress Rachel Weisz in a secret ceremony in New York last June, answered, “It’s a pretty good time, yes. My family and friends are close by. I feel good about life, yes!”

Told that he gives the impression of a man who could live under a bridge with nothing, the rugged actor teased with a laugh, “Not anymore.”

On what his house is like, Daniel answered in general terms: “The nicest homes I’ve been into and the ones I always remember are those that seem to have an open door to people. There are centers in those homes, usually revolving around the kitchen, where there are children, family members and friends. If I were looking at an ideal home, that type would be mine!”

On whether he has gotten used to being stared at in public, Daniel said in his self-deprecating wit, “You get used to it. Yeah, disbelief is right. As in, ‘Really, is that what he looks like?’”

The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

Why We Still Can’t Take Our Eyes Off of Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig in 'Cowboys & Aliens.' Photo: Universal Pictures
Daniel Craig is not the sort of guy one fails to notice. yet, the first time that I noticed Craig, he had already been acting on screen and in TV roles for a decade, though mostly in England. I discovered him in Road to Perdition, director Sam Mendes‘ 2002 drama about 1930s American gangsters. Craig played a mobster, the sadistic son of Paul Newman‘s crime boss. despite stars Tom Hanks and Newman, whenever Craig was in a scene, I couldn’t take my eyes off of him. He was menacing and slightly out of control and totally mesmerizing.
I remember that I made a point of looking up his name afterward in the credits. (At the time, I was the movie critic at People magazine.) Who is this guy, I wanted to know, and how can I see more of him? (Somehow, I had failed to take proper note of him a year earlier when he battled special effects and Angelina Jolie for attention in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, his first, big budget Hollywood effort.)
In Perdition, it was clear that Craig was the real deal, a heck of an actor and a genuine movie star. and so he remains today. He’s a big reason, along with the terrific title and Harrison Ford, that millions will line up this weekend to see his latest film, Cowboys & Aliens.
In it, the 43-year-old star plays an outlaw in the old West who joins forces with a cattle baron (Ford) when invaders from outer space arrive in a dusty, small town. the movie delivers on the promise of its genre mash-up title – there are indeed cowboys battling with aliens – but C&a is never as much fun or as inventive as you keep hoping it will be. that said, Craig is a forceful presence throughout the film, offering an appealing performance (including doffing his shirt several times).
Of course, it’s the role of James Bond that made – and keeps – Craig an international star. He succeeded Irish-born Pierce Brosnan as 007 in 2006 in Casino Royale, a robust reboot of the franchise that explored Bond’s early years and served as an excuse to put Craig into a tight-fitting swimsuit.
He brought a brawniness to his Bond, the like of which hadn’t been seen since Sean Connery vigorously shook his martinis rather than stirring them. while Craig certainly appeared debonair enough in a tux, in both Casino and its 2008 follow-up, Quantum of Solace, he exuded an underlying tension and menace that brought a special charge to his Bond. (His third effort as 007 is currently in pre-production.)
