So far I haven't questioned why or how he got it.
There must have been lobbying done on his behalf by tptb behind Bond franchise. That I get.
Like Gg said thank God for small mercies and he absolutely deserves it.
Only gripe for me was they only showed him beating people up and shooting all over the place when he is so much more.

In The Monuments Men I am hoping his char is more drama and less action driven.
Oscars - From Skyfall I can see Best Pic, sound editing, music, cinematography, song being contenders not the actors.

Saw the video. Thank you Jes. My favourite moment was at 01:12:13. When Ford mentioned Connery the facial expressions of Daniel and surprisíngly Rachel were interesting as if they are tired of hearing the comparison.

But in addition, how can they show scenes as Jake (only because HFord presented the award?) and not as Mikael? Maybe there will be clarity after reading the program. I haven't had a chance and won't until the weekend. I do see Bardem getting nominated though in addition to the others you listed.

What I thought was funny was that the DC section was quite funny compared to those of Day-Lewis and even of Tarantino. They were all joking about/with him and I thought that was kind of lovely - a reflection of his real relationship with the persons contributing?

But indeed, GWTDT people were pretty much missing... I wonder if that was a business decision of some sort?

Thank you, Juicy, I loved watching the clips. He looked fantastic, and it was great to see him with Rachel and looking relaxed and enjoying himself among friends. I thought Dame Judi's contribution was hilarious.
