Eh. Everyone says it. Seems to be the party line. It's one of those things that for years and years has been said. What an honour it is. And to most I think it still is but again, the commercialisation of Broadway may be dampening that.sf2la wrote:I just hope It doesn't turn out that Rafe and Rachel get nominated and Daniel does not. Ouch.
So how would you explain his answer about Broadway audiences?

I may be a cynic, but I took it as one of those stock answers. "Like nothing else on earth" isn't saying they're better than a West End audience, just different. It's a polite answer. What else would he have said? - I'm doing Broadway because it's on my doorstep, and my wife won't spend 14 weeks away from her son so London is out.
I'm not suggesting that's the only reason for doing Broadway, but I imagine it has to be a consideration. I think it all came together for this one - location, director, chance of a Tony for one or both of them, a meaty play that they can both get their teeth into, and a change from film work, so he can still go out and shop for greens instead of months in hotels.

Yeah, I'll be honest, I didn't even realize he said it until someone pointed it out. Almost every actor who has returned to the stage for the first time, after year or even again the next year, seems to say it.HLAJ wrote:I may be a cynic, but I took it as one of those stock answers. I think that might be a new pic of DC.
