If that is really true - I am astonished ..and happy! :D:D:D
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

He also plans on making follow-ups to Fame, Death Wish and 1999’s The Thomas Crown Affair, which starred ex-007, Pierce Brosnan.

I would rather say 1968 "The Thomas Crown Affair"

Death Wish... I only know the ones with Charles Bronson, could this one be meant????

What about Some Voices 2???!!? Sighs.... wish that would happen. Never mind - maybe we could write to Daniel to ask him to consider playing Ray once again!

That is good news for 4 more Bond films!!!

Happy , Happy Day !!!! Good for him and us ! I wonder if the last 3 items refered to him . I thought Pierce was doing a sequel to his sequel . It might be a little uncool to replace Pierce again ... might start something .

''Sloan referred to franchises as “the base of any studio”, before revealing Craig is signed up as Agent 007 right through until Bond 25. He also plans on making follow-ups to Fame, Death Wish and 1999’s The Thomas Crown Affair, which starred ex-007, Pierce Brosnan.''

Didnt it mean this Sloan person is making fame, tom crown and death wish, not daniel.

Thats the way I took it Mel-DC . Other than Bond I don't think Dan would be king of the remakes . Besides if he is the highest paid british actor ( does he make more than the Potter kid after 5 movies ?) I think he might have the clout to have new films greenlighted not rehashed films just to make a buck .

I'm a bit troubled by this news concerning four more Bond for Daniel :? I LOVE Daniel in this film and it's this film which leads me to this forum.. But since I have discovered his talent of acting in others films, I wonder why he will accept to do more Bond films than first decided... it's well paid yes and perhaps let him the possibility to have money for filming more independant films ?
He creates a new Bond, featuring the young 00 and of course everything isn't explained in CR..In contrary it opens the way to others stories about revenge concerning Vesper's death and so on..

But... It's hard to explain a more tiedous opinion about this because I'm at the same time very happy about it and worried also, especially about the age he will have for the latest Bond..
He's very handsome, and the more he's getting older the more I find him sexy BUT if I'm not wrong he will be more or less near 50... Even if I appreciate the Bond played by Roger Moore, I don't want to see him with tons of make up to help him looking younger..

Too many questions in my head actually... Perhaps I simply can't imagine that I will have the pleasure to watch him more in Bond character!!!!
You only live twice or so it seems..
One life for yourself and one for your dreams...And one day I realize that I was addicted to Daniel Craig's blue eyes.

I was wondering about this, too. But appearently he´s seen, that he can make enough films in between to keep himself- and us happy.

If they make them every two years and they will, because there is that anniversary in 2012, he will be finished in 2014, which makes him only 46.
IMO, he will look fine, because I find men with his rugged look - once they have a certain age - don´t seem to change that much for a couple of years. Its different with the men, who have smooth faces. When they get older, you suddenly see lines and stuff, they didn´t have before, what makes them look old all of a sudden.
The world noticed him big time with all those lines and is now used to them.

You're right about this and 46 nowadays isn't old for a man who looks after his good looking

I found this tonight:

Daniel Craig Returning as James Bond in 4 More Films!
October 27, 2007
Source: Hollywood Reporter
by Alex Billington

We already know Daniel Craig will be returning as James Bond in the 22nd film that's currently shooting and due out next November, but that's not it. MGM president Harry Sloan has confirmed that they're bringing back Daniel Craig for four more James Bond films, making him the star in at least five total. How does he shape up to the other Bond actors over the years?

So far I'm quite impressed with Craig as Bond, but he still doesn't beat Roger Moore or even Sean Connery. Here are all the other films each Bond actors has done.

Sean Connery - 6
Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever

George Lazenby - 1
On Her Majesty's Secret Service

Roger Moore - 7
Live and Let Die, The Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View to a Kill

Timothy Dalton - 2
The Living Daylights, Licence to Kill

Pierce Brosnan - 4
GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day

Daniel Craig - 5+
Casino Royale, Bond 22 - 25

This definitely looks positive and I'm glad to see the Bond franchise continue to grow with Craig in the lead.
He's really building quite a career for himself starring in a number of other non-Bond movies that hit this year as well, including the upcoming Golden Compass. He also has likely roles in upcoming Fame, Death Wish and Thomas Crown Affair films.

  once again Thomas Crown Affair??

I 'm glad he will be in at least 4 easily accessible movies for 7 years . 46 isn't too bad isn't Clive 45 now and he's pretty hot . I think Roger who was in his 40 s when he started Bond . I think he should have stopped after the 4th or 5th movie . Dalton was 42 . After the reboot , it might be hard to replace him . I wish they would do a prequel to show the early years before Bond . Pierce was good but probably should have done it in the late 80s when he was first offered it . I keep reading that Dalton turned it down in the late 60s when Sean was giving them a hard time . He thougt he was too young at the time .When the producers like someone they stick with them .

I still think that is being read wrong . I don't believe for a second that he would do so many retreads . What would he play in Fame a teacher ? Didn't they just redo Deathwish sort of with Jodie Foster ?

Wasn't Brosnan in his fifties too when he did the last one?

Anyway, I was thrilled when I heard the news!!
