Out of nowhere a car comes to pick them up and takes them somewhere :dunno:
Well that had me frowning at the first viewing too.

But it totally makes sense and seems logic when you think of the overall topic of this movie which is surveillance on a grand scale
Blofeld knew that Bond was coming and sent the car to pick him up.
Yes I forgot about the surveillance tracking.
Being the shallow person I am I was just enamerd with the car.

Hi everyone!
Have to say I´ve seen it twice.
first on the opening night on November 5 alone and with my sister last Saturday.
I won´t be doing al my review at once cause some things I can´t remember.
Seeing the opening credits remind me the same on GDT. Shirtles Dan is never enough.
Pre-title sequence was great, I stood at the edge of my sit the whole time, The helicopter part feels incredible real. At one moment while he´s fighting in the helicopter there´s a song for the Day of the day and the lyrics says something like "siento su poder" wish means "I feel its/his power" (depends on the context) and happens when Bond his beating the pilot up.

For me CR is still his best by a mile.
I agree that Daniel was perfect in this movie (although too many clothes..aargh), but to me, he was his most handsome in CR. That was his physical prime - face and body. But everyone ages, and he's still ruggedly, smokin hot handsome.

Must say, this film is pur Daniel porn for me. I dont even need naked. The way he moves, the way he wears those clothes, the shirt in Morocco is fine and he looks like in QOS. His voice is pur magic, too. And the way, he has so many different faces again here, most of them handsome and beautiful. I always loved that about him, how his face can be so different. For all this alone, I will watch the film a few more times.

Yes, CR is his best in looks and overall, but other then in SF, where it was painful at times to look at him, this is a pleasure :D
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

'...painful at times to look at him...' I assume you meant the bits when Bond returned to London and he had red-rimmed eyes GG? If so, I agree. He was supposed to look "haggard", although Daniel on his worst day is still pretty good imo.

Just come home from ninth time to cinema.
I don't feel guilty OR embarrassed... I am still LOVING this movie... :D  ... have every intention to return at the weekend although finding the money is going to be a little harder. Don't worry. I'm not going to bankrupt myself. You are the only people I tell the truth to though. I don't say much to those I work with and, when I get asked how many times I've seen it, I just say 'a few'.

I just LOVE LOOKING AT HIM!
He is so, so beautiful..... :sigh:

I agree with GG that the clothes and that handsome face is so good, the lack of exposed skin can be lived with.

Does anyone notice that Monica sheds a tear when she's kissing him? Was that acting or for real? If I was her, it would be real... just pure emotion.

I appreciate Daniel in CR but wasn't so keen on his hair then as I am now. For me, Daniel just gets BETTER with age.

Audiences are still responsive. I went to an early showing straight after work. It was Screen One again and I had a FRONT ROW seat but a reasonable distance from the screen. People sat to left and right of me and they seemed to enjoy it. 8) :D The movie's jokes seem to hit the mark this time around.

Checking in from Wales on my iphone. Hard to write suffice to say I thought like CR it came across as two acts. Unlike CR I preferred the first act of Spectre. Such richness and beautiful filmmaking. Once they hit up the volcano it got a little tiresome. Madeleine was too shallow for me, no inner depths to capture our man. Ok, why were we set up to expect Bond's "American friend" yet never got him?

Overall, thoroughly enjoyable, a tour de force of everything Bond, aside from the sexy time, I didn't get that. They cut that to get a 12 rating but it's ok to show a man poking another's eye out?

Caramel, I agree with your review. But I preferred this one to SF. Well right now I do.

Daniel, gosh what is there to say. Simply divine and the embodiment of Bond.

Oh gosh, it was a assault on the senses, I am still processing it all!

I do have to say, the whole megalomaniac villain story has to go, it was way too close to Austin Powers for my taste. CR was able to deliver a great Bond feel without that element, i feel the constant nod to Bond of old isn't necessary and for me was the weakest link in this film.

The day of the dead swagger, however, oh boy, I could watch that man walk towards and away from me all day long!

TOTALLY agree, but I am not a gadget/joke Bond fan. I think the movie would have been a lot better without the little gags, although I liked Q's comment about the steering wheel. I don't think the seriousness mixed with the lightheartedness. And yeah, there was nothing about Lea's character that made me fathom why he would likely throw in the towel just for her. It wasn't believable.

Of course, I did - still do - miss shirtless Dan. The guy is built like a god and gets all modest on us. And good point, Bee - they could gouge a guy's eyes out but couldn't have any kind of a sexy scene.

I've seen it 3 times. I like it okay. Still a 7/10 for me. Love him.

I have only seen it once :(

Doubtful if I can make another visit to the movies to see it though - maybe over the thanksgiving break if my daughter and I are on good enough terms... a lot of drama between us these days

I've seen it for the second time on preview on Tuesday. Oh gosh, I realized how tired I have been at my first viewing on October 26th in London because there were a lot I haven't seen then !

I really enjoyed it ! It's overall a fantastic movie. Daniel at his best ! He IS Bond, more than ever. He looks gorgeous in every sequence ! A true Daniel festival ! :thud:

But, except the no-shirtless scenes with Daniel, it has 2 weak points for me :

- Christoph Waltz was not cruel enough for my taste (comparing to other vilains he has played before),
- the chemistry between Léa and Daniel was not strong enough. It was by far not the chemistry there was between Vesper Lynd and Bond ! But it's not Léa's fault, it's the plot. She played it very good but her character was not deep enough, her story came up to quickly. They could have go more deeper in that.

For me, if these 2 points would have been better, the movie would have been exceptional !

Hubby adored it ! He said he didn't see the time pass and, as a passionate photographer he is, he praised the quality of the pictures !

For me the end of the movie is very open and there is big room for a next part...

SPOILER !!

- Blofeld is not death, so his sprawling organisation could make him escape,
- Mister Hinx, are we sure he is death ? He was smashed out of the train and must be a little damaged but he can still be alive... BTW, the only words he had to say in the movie was : "oh shit !"
- Didn't Daniel say in an interview that they first wanted to make 2 movies in a row ?

Well, time will tell !

Question for you. Train scene. Was there a kissing scene in the trailer with Swann that wasn't in the final film? I feel we saw her back against the wall with him coming at her from the right of the screen, yet in the movie he came at her from the left? Or am I imagining it.
