Yes, Sean did some good and successful work, but did he really break free? Certainly more then the others.
BTW - you forgot "The name of the Rose" Pretty much his best film acting wise for me.
But Daniel is more talented and should be able to do as much if not better. BUT - i am not sure, he will. He has had some great films, who could have done that for him already. Defiance and Tattoo at least. Even Dream House as a project could have been great and different. He seems out of luck somewhat. Great projects on paper, great directors and good cast and...I hope, he can break that rule.

The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

Of course I did. I was only naming them from memory.. But this kind of proves my point re: Sean. There's been so many, too many. While he is Bond, for whatever reason, it's not the first thing I think of when it comes to him and I'm not too sure why.
I think with that role and the brand you can never truly break free but some that have been less talented have certainly stuck to their guns and the stereotype that they know best. To me Dan is the best actor they've ever had out of the lot. He will have other great roles, I'm certain.

For those interested, @AtlantaFilming is following the production of the film.
