Its just the same old story from last year. He will never be the presses lover boy, as he is NOT playing their game. He never suffered stupid easily and that will not change. For that they will continue to bash him. I am pretty sure he doesn´t give a f***ing farth. Sorry
The only thing, IMO, he needs to do nicely is his fans and from what I have seen this recent year, he enjoys doing the lines- talking, smiling (mostly), feeling comfortable among them. Its the fans who gonna see the films and therefore make the stars, not the tabloids.

The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

LONDON (Reuters) - He's jumping off tall buildings again, but this time it is just rehearsals ahead of the next James Bond blockbuster due in theatres in 2008.
Actor Daniel Craig, who won over the sceptics with his dark and dangerous interpretation of the world's most famous spy in his hit Bond debut "Casino Royale", is set to reprise the role in an as yet untitled sequel.
"We are rehearsing stunts and I'm throwing myself off tall buildings ... again," Craig said in a recent interview.
Asked whether "Bond 22" would be based on an Ian Fleming novel in the same way as "Casino Royale", he replied:
"It's a completely new story and it does go straight on from the end of the last one. We've picked some themes that come up in the last movie ... They are pretty fundamental ones and they're good fun to do."
The 39-year-old hesitated before accepting the role of Bond in "Casino Royale", aware that he would be expected to commit to several more films in the hugely successful franchise and run the risk of being typecast as an action hero.
But Craig said he had had few problems doing what he wanted to do since then, and the clout that Bond has given him had actually opened up new possibilities.
"I produced a movie this year which has been a new experience," he said of "Flashbacks of a Fool" due out next year. Craig also stars in the tale of a fading Hollywood star who examines his past after the death of his best friend.
"It may happen (that I am typecast)," he told Reuters. "Maybe I should just relax and let it happen. Maybe I'm just working too hard."

Craig next appears in cinemas in early December in "The Golden Compass", a big-budget adaptation of Philip Pullman's acclaimed novel "Northern Lights".
A fan of the books, Craig always saw himself playing the explorer Lord Asriel. As with Bond, the role will probably mean having to commit to more films, because "Northern Lights" is the first instalment in a trilogy.
"On a completely selfish level ... I would really like to continue telling this story," he said.
Pullman fans are concerned that the Hollywood version has watered down the theme of religion, while a U.S. Catholic group has called for a boycott of "The Golden Compass", fearing it will attract young readers to books it says are anti-Christian.
Craig defended the film, which also features Nicole Kidman.
"I think it does stand up. It's an incredibly enjoyable couple of hours."
But he would have welcomed the inclusion of more overt religious content.
"I wish there was, because I think the debate that Philip Pullman raises is incredibly healthy," he said.
"I think the thing that Philip Pullman has done so spectacularly is using the platform of a children's book to deal with very adult themes. My hope is that people will watch this film and read the books."

WOW, I thought that was a GREAT interview!!! The way it was presented in the tabloid article, it sounded like he was being hostile with those responses, but he was actually quite charming. He seemed very relaxed and laughed a lot. I just loved it. His comments about his personal life weren't even in response to a question about it, but general statements about his boundaries and beliefs. I'd love to have this interview too...on my iPod so I can listen often!

A key role in The Golden Compass is part of Daniel Craig's Bond boom. London, England–James Bond is making it easier for Daniel Craig to build a career. Of course, it doesn't always work that way. More often than not, actors who choose to take on iconic roles are stereotyped while they are playing the part and are often still trying to escape the character's long shadows years after they've walked away. In a London hotel's interview room, where he has come to promote The Golden Compass, Craig, who is about to start work on a second film in the Bond series, says that taking on the role of 007 has, thus far, been a good thing.
"This is the third film I have done this year," he says. "It was the first film I did after Bond, and it was not a big commitment. It was a relatively short shoot for me. I just finished shooting a movie in Lithuania with [director] Ed Zwick and some of my best friends and several people I had wanted to work with. It was a personal thing that I really wanted to do. There is no doubt that playing Bond helped get it made, because I had been trying to make it for five or six years [before Bond]. You still have to go through the process and convince people that they should invest a lot of money on something that isn't necessarily going to make much of it back. But Bond made it easier to get the money."
In The Golden Compass, which opens on December 7 in Vancouver, Craig plays Lord Asriel, a scientist who goes to the northern part of his parallel universe to conduct experiments that may create a rift in its structures. The Golden Compass is the first of three books in a series called His Dark Materials. The distributor, New Line Cinema, wanted to keep the film's running time down to two hours to appeal to a younger audience. So the end of the first book, which prominently features Craig's character, has been held back until the second movie. Craig says that he doesn't think future shoots will interfere with his Bond movie schedule. "I assume that I will be in the next movie because a lot of this story has been left untold. There is no guarantee that there will be a second one until they look at the box office for this one, but I'm pretty sure that I can squeeze it in between Bonds."
Although Craig has been extremely busy in the past year and a half, he says that as he gets older (he will be 40 in March), he has found that it's easy to be preoccupied with avoiding unemployment to the point that other things get put on hold.
"I don't think any actor wants to be out of work, but I have had to make time for things like family and friends. You have to spend quality time with everyone in your life because it's easy to lose touch. I don't want to do that because they are the most important things to me."

I read today, in one of many newspapers offered in underground, that "DC asked Satsuki in mariage (while they were on holydays in Italy) because she proudly show a huge dimond ring offered by DC, at the Golden Compass Premiere."
