Jeffrey Wright `Felix Leiter` arrested in bar brawl
Actors Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright and five other members of the crew filming director-producer Oliver Stone’s new film, “W,” were arrested early Saturday during a bar fight in Shreveport, Louisiana. “W” began filming in May in Shreveport - reports eNews.
Jeffrey Wright had recently completed his second stint as Felix Leiter in the 22nd James Bond film "Quantum of Solace". Ironically, in the film he meets with 007 at a bar before a fight ensues.
The police were called to a club called the Stray Cats bar at around 2 a.m. to break up a disturbance. Shreveport police Sgt. Willie Lewis said Brolin, Wright and five others were arrested for interfering with police.
They were all charged with interfering with police, a misdemeanor.
Brolin was booked and posted $334 cash bond to be released, the Times of Shreveport reported.
According to the Times of Shreveport, arrested on the same charge as Brolin, 40, of Los Angeles, and Wright, 42, of New York City, who plays Gen. Colin Powell in “W.,” were Evan C. Bates, 26, of Torrance, Calif.; Cherilyn Young, 36, of Austin, Texas; Amy Draughn, 33, of Los Angeles; and Ismael Martinez, 28, of El Paso, Texas.
A fifth person, who was working as a “W” lighting technician, was charged with entering and remaining, resisting arrest and public intoxication.
Brolin plays President Bush and Wright plays former Secretary of State Colin Powell in Stone’s third presidential film, “W”, following “Nixon” and “JFK.”
The 40-year-old SAG Award winner appeared in three films last year, “In the Valley of Elah,” “American Gangster” and “No Country for Old Men.” He won a Tony Award for his role in “Angels in America.”

Why so much luggage for a trip that lasted a couple of days? I agree with you Pandora. I think people feel obliged to say Sean was the best Bond because he was the first actor to play him on screen. But society and attitudes towards sex, politics etc have changed so much since the 1960's, the Sean Connery movies seem a little dated now. I don't dislike the other Bond actors. They ALL had something to contribute. But Daniel brings a little Je Ne Sais Quoi to the role that makes him stand out as something special... THE year of the bespoke blockbuster is upon us as fashion's superhero designers fight to bring sartorial style back on to the big screen. Their weapons of choice? Suiting up Batman and James Bond.
As a recession looms, designers such as Giorgio Armani and Tom Ford are hoping to turn their collaborations on movie blockbusters into menswear best-sellers.
And with women's fashion dominating cinema thanks to Sex and the City, the timing could not be more critical for men's costume design to make a comeback.
"It is a revisit to the '40s because all those film stars have tremendous style like Clark Gable, Gary Cooper and Cary Grant," says Louise Frogley, costume designer on male-dominated films including the new Bond film Quantum of Solace, and George Clooney's Good Night, and Good Luck, Syriana and Ocean's Thirteen.
Call it a chick-flick backlash if you will, but box-office success stories including Iron Man and The Dark Knight prove it pays to be an immaculately dressed hero.
"Things go in full cycle regularly and so do men's concerns about their clothes," says Frogley. "On Ocean's Thirteen and Bond it's a lot about clothes."
This full cycle extends to the catwalks of Milan and Paris, where menswear has moved on from the recent domination of Hedi Slimane's androgynous and ultra-slim rocker silhouettes for Dior Homme.
Due to actors such as Clooney, Brad Pitt, Russell Crowe, Clive Owen, Daniel Craig and Matt Damon, the renewed masculinity of contemporary Hollywood has driven a return to the 1960s rat pack-style suits meets '40s old-school movie star glamour.
Cinema's new heroes and anti-heroes are wearing their masculinity like suits of armour; consider the alumni of hard-edged men vying for Hollywood's crown.
Damon powering through The Bourne Identity, Crowe shooting up 3:10 to Yuma and Denzel Washington's king-pin style in American Gangster. Clooney's Michael Clayton is rivalled in slickness only by Robert Downey Jr in Iron Man.
Responding to the new virility, leading fashion brands are campaigning to align their brands with powerful celluloid players.

The alchemy between fashion and film is a proven retail driver. Since Robert Redford stepped on to the set of The Great Gatsby in Ralph Lauren, film characters have become aspirational sales models. On the cusp of the '80s Richard Gere dressed in Giorgio Armani made suits sexy in American Gigolo. Sex appeal turned to excess in 1987's Wall Street with Michael Douglas wearing power suits by Nino Cerruti.
Another Italian luxury menswear label, Canali, would dress Clooney to understated perfection in Michael Clayton.
But in the menswear industry, no franchise is as hotly contested as James Bond. It has become showbiz folklore that Die Another Day (2002) remains the most heavily product-placed film produced, with reportedly 20 companies paying $US70 million to have their products featured.
For Quantum of Solace the product-placement deals are far more selective. "The Bond machine is very experienced in marketing and presentation," Frogley says.
"Everything goes through EON Productions owned by the Broccoli family at first and they are very precise about their marketing and what they will use and the conditions it's under." Bond's Omega watch will be back, along with his beloved Aston Martin. So will the dashing suits, but this time Ford is in the driver's seat.
"I was trying to solve a problem and I was just seeing all this great stuff Tom Ford was doing. I knew the relationship with the previous tailors had come to an end with Bond and they were looking for another house to take over, and I contacted Ford."
With Bond's and Bruce Wayne's outfits set to become some of the most influential men's cinematic wardrobes, the issue of who is dressing Hollywood's leading men has made headlines. Frogley believes this is because their characters inspire people, and "audiences are attracted to the character and want to adapt their styles for themselves". Batman has long fascinated filmgoers; however, his alter ego, billionaire Bruce Wayne, has been somewhat of an enigma. That is likely to change in a sartorial sense when The Dark Knight opens on the big screen and audiences will see Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne dressed exclusively in Armani made-to-measure suits.
"For the character Bruce Wayne, (director) Chris Nolan and I wanted an expensively elegant tailored look, to contrast with his Batman persona," says the film's costume designer Lindy Hemming. "We felt that the Giorgio Armani brand was emblematic of the contemporary classic look that I hoped to create. I think Christian looks edgy and cool, and I feel that their tailoring beautifully realised our vision."
The Italian heritage of Armani suiting was a logical choice for Hemming, who has previously worked with Brioni, another Italian label revered for its hand-made suits.
During her tenure as costume designer on several Bond films, she introduced Brioni to the franchise, dressing Pierce Brosnan in its bespoke suits in 1995's Golden Eye and Craig in Casino Royale.
When the Academy Award-winning Hemming moved from Bond to Batman, she brought with her that taste for Italian perfectionism, but this time in the form of Armani. Armani has a long history of dressing Hollywood's most dashing men but never has the 74-year-old designer turned his talents to such a dark gothic tale. Perhaps the designer could foresee the sombre economic mood and shifting political landscape.
Given Batman's foe the Joker draws on the destructive power of punk, blurring Johnny Rotten with the smeared agony of a Francis Bacon portrait, Bruce Wayne and his bespoke suits symbolise a dignified calm and protective cloak amid the chaos. While Armani is a veteran of dressing actors, Ford is a newcomer.
After the relationship with Brioni and the Bond franchise ended, the fashion industry went into overdrive speculating who would be dressing Bond. At first Dunhill was tipped as the likely contender because of its British heritage. However, Bond has grown into a global brand and one that remarkably mirrors Ford's own, which he launched in 2006 in alliance with Zegna Group. Ford's collaboration with Frogley on Quantum of Solace was announced last month.
"I could not be happier to be dressing Daniel Craig in the next James Bond film. It is an honour to move forward with this iconic character and there is no better man to dress in the world than James Bond," Ford said in a statement.
When Frogley arrived at Ford's showroom on the King's Road in London in 2007, she knew she had found the designer for her version of a stricter, '60s-inspired Bond.
"With Bond what I was trying to do was to go back to the early days of Bond films, much more the Sean Connery look, only because Daniel Craig isn't a traditional type of Bond guy," Frogley says.
"I felt able to break away from the traditional English Savile Row look and go with a tailor like Tom Ford because I felt that he was doing the look I wanted, which was a very neat, buttoned look, almost like he's a CIA agent meets Steve McQueen, even though he's English."
