James Bond actor to donate 12,000 dollars to disaster victims

Yangon - James Bond actor Daniel Craig will donate about 12,000 dollars to buy new boats for a group of fishermen in Irrawaddy delta that was ravaged by Cyclone Nargis in May, a local media report said Monday.

Craig will donate four sea-going vessels and 21 smaller boats to fishermen in Ah-lai-thaung village of Pyin-kha-yaing town, Flower News weekly reported.

'His representative came to Myanmar and said he will pay for 25 fishing boats, and our committee brought the representative to that village," a member from the fishery rehabilitation committee told the publication.

It will cost about 15 million kyats (about 12,345 dollars) for the fishing boats made locally, he said.

Bond girl Ivana Milicevic to be face of Airlie Beach

Ivana Milicevic who played villainous blonde Valenka in the last Bond film Casino Royale, will star in a tourism campaign for Airlie Beach - reports the Courier Mail.

The Yugoslavian-born Hollywood starlet arrives in Queensland today for a starring role in a marketing campaign to promote the north Queensland holiday hot spot.

So what's the connection, you ask?

Ivana, who played the girlfriend of evil baddie Le Chiffre in the exotic Bond instalment, is the perfect face of Airlie Beach, which is being rebranded as the French Riviera of Australia.

And Tempo Lifestyles, the brand behind Mackay's $50 million Bucasia Beach Resort and Spa and the new $85 million luxury holiday home resort at Airlie Beach, is hoping the actor will enhance the resort's appeal to the cashed-up over-30s.

"We want images used in the marketing campaign not only to show the beauty of Airlie but to depict the integrated coastal lifestyle offered by a Tempo Lifestyle development," said Archer Property Group's John Archer.

But Milicevic's visit to Australia isn't all business.

The glamourpuss is dating Sydney-based businessman Adrian Hunter and the couple have been spotted catching up with some of Milicevic's Aussie pals including Sarah Murdoch, who was cast alongside her in the 2001 flick Head over Heels.

X Factor bosses to line up Daniel Craig for 007 James Bond theme week

X factor bosses are planning to organise a James Bond theme week, and hope to convince Daniel Craig to be a part of it.

The hit ITV series executives are already preparing for live stages, which will take place later this year on Saturday nights.

Girls Aloud pop group is also expected to perform alongside.

“Bond theme tunes are some of the great songs from the past few decades, from Goldfinger to View To A Kill, there is something for all acts, the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

“Perhaps Simon Cowell can persuade Daniel Craig to pop in or Shirley Bassey or Duran Duran can perform,” the source added.

You only live twice or so it seems..
One life for yourself and one for your dreams...And one day I realize that I was addicted to Daniel Craig's blue eyes.

Personally, I can't see this happening. I'd imagine he'd cringe at the very thought of it!

Didn´t he say something along the line of "I rather put nails through my eyes." I am not sure, it was the eyes, but he did put nails through some part of himself
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

My turn to be the smarty pants, it was the Layer Cake interview and he said it about directing, and that he'd rather put nails in his eyes.

Thx so my Dan memories are still intact :D But I am so sure, he will have a go at directing not too far from now. Lets say within the next three years. Time will tell.
