Guinness wrote:okay. did you just write that Heike was offended by what DC said to her about a "German" sausage????? that isnt good. please elaborate, translation correct?
The translation is as good as I can do it.
It's meant like GG said ... she offended in discussions with other Brits, maybe other actors, friends.

In Diskussionen eckte sie als Deutsche oft an. Und Craig hätte sich beschwert, wenn sie sich zum Frühstück eine Leberwurststulle schmierte, erzählte sie damals.

Makatsch doesn't talk about private things. Differently from Knef, who was all over the press with every separation, we still don't know why her relationship with Bond-Actor Daniel Craig ended after seven years. There were the news and since then not a word.
[...]
Makatsch knows the ups and downs. When the 37-year-old lived in London, she had to eke out a housewive-existence and often felt faceless. During discussions she offended as a German. And Craig complained when she had a liver sausage sandwich (Leberwurststulle) for breakfast, she told then. It wasn't easy, but Makatsch resigned for love to push her career in Germany.
okay. did you just write that Heike was offended by what DC said to her about a "German" sausage????? that isnt good. please elaborate, translation correct?
I don´t read it, as if she was offended by him complaining about her sandwich but rather maybe in discussions in generell..Thank you, Birte for translating.. :D
Okay. i agree one can be offended by such a sandwich for breakfast...but it was in context with the other statements..."When the 37-year-old lived in London, she had to eke out a housewive-existence and often felt faceless. During discussions she offended as a German. And Craig complained when she had a liver sausage sandwich (Leberwurststulle) for breakfast, she told then. " during discussions she offended as a german. that is in context with DC's comment. so i thought it was translated incorrectly because reading it as english it reads that she was having issues with being out of her country and even DC picked on her about her nationality. news? or old news about their tumultuous relationship? Bond villian: Daniel can't play poker

Springing to fame facing 007 as the villain Le Chiffre in Casino Royale, Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, 43, plays the hero in a local film, Flame & Citron, out today on DVD. Filmed in Germany and Prague, it is the story of two Danish Resistance fighters in World War II

Swatch named a range of a watches after Bond villains. Can you send me one?
I only got one of mine. They took me to Switzerland and it was really cool to get one and meet Richard Kiel [Jaws]. It’s the second best thing if you don’t get the action doll.

Did the film give you the gambling bug?
I already had it. I’d been playing poker for many years. All the crew played so the per diems were flying back and forth – mostly forth. I got a Royal Straight Flush one day and everyone else had good hands, so that was a big pot.

Did you ever beat Daniel Craig?
He never played. I’m not sure he knew a spade from a diamond. Ha-ha. He had to be up every day at 5am so he didn’t have the chance to play. I’ll catch him later.

Are people surprised you’re not a villain in real life?
Yes. I was surprised when I met Richard Kiel that he was a nice guy. It might be quite useful for discounts? That depends. Sometimes it might cost you extra.

How was it shooting an anti-Nazi film in Germany?
They still have the old-style streets and lights that look like Copenhagen in the 1940s. It was really weird to be on German turf, making a film about fighting the Germans with everybody around us speaking German. Provoking, actually.

Isn’t it odd we are still making films about World War II?
It looks as if it takes one generation or so to face what really happened. It’s impossible to do it one week later.

Would you have been brave enough to join the Resistance?
If I did not have kids I’d hope I’d say yes. I boil for justice so I would not have been able to hide away but it’s easy to say that now. Everybody claims to have had a grandfather who was in the Resistance. That makes about 300,000 but the fact is there were only 1,000. And there were at least ten times as many from Denmark fighting for the Nazis. But we have to understand the time: there was an immense fear of the Communists and Europe needed a change from the Depression and unemployment. It was an ideology people could understand – and they didn’t know how it would turn out.

What three things should visitors do in Copenhagen?
Walk around and meet people in bars. We have a lot in common with the Brits – the sarcasm, the humour and the openness. Go to Tivoli [an amusement park] – if you have to – I don’t recommend it. But do go to see a concert in our new opera house – it’s a beautiful building. And play pool. You guys are good at snooker so you can come and teach us a lesson.

Why do I think I’m being hustled?
Damn! You caught that one.

What’s with this salt liquorice thing?
We are just brought up with that in Denmark and we are astonished no one else likes it. We bring it everywhere and make everyone puke and look at us as if we are idiots. It’s just something you miss when you’re not home – like your Guinness. No one else understands that – who is going to drink a dead beer besides you guys? It’s an acquired taste.

What’s the worst thing you’ve ever eaten?
In Portugal, I thought I was ordering bacalhau – the salt cod – but I got a sort of rotten fish in potato mush. I was in a local restaurant and everyone gave me the thumbs up because I was this tourist eating their local s*** so I had to finish it. It wasn’t good.

That’s brave. You’d have done well in the Resistance.
They would have f***ing killed me if I didn’t eat it!

"I boil for justice..." I love how he said this and damn, he is smart!! That makes him hot IMO. thank you Thelma-love tracking your posts!!

I love his response to this as well. (and we better not stop making movies about history, lest we forget or get it wrong!!!)

The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

Yay!!!! He got fed!! Not that he would go hungry  , but I did feel for him if he had a rumbling tum and needed re-fuelling!!

I like what they said in the little Biog attached to the side of the piece....

".......... He has a child from a previous marriage and has since enjoyed a long-term relationship with girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell. Sorry, ladies – and plenty of you fellows too - this international hottie is off the market. Sigh. "

It was the "Sigh" at the end that made me smile :D

       I hope her campaign fails, only because I think her and Daniel will have horible chemistry. I could be wrong but, she seems so stuck up to me. I say stick with the newcomers. I only hope the Bond producers learned from Halle.

Just a little tidbit from an interview with Cillian Murphy :

The movie also gave you a chance to work with British director John Maybury, who’s had a very interesting career.
I had seen and loved [Maybury’s film] “Love is the Devil: Study for a Portrait of Francis Bacon” with Daniel Craig, and I thought it was absolutely beautiful—a masterpiece really. [Maybury] comes from an art background and he has a unique, very frightening and exhilarating way of shooting. He shoots no more than two takes of anything. I think so much screen acting is indulgent—you reach the fourteenth take and you don’t really know if you’re making it any better. But because John is only shooting a few takes, you have to be focused.
