In the film you can clearly see its Dan who makes the jump but on the dvd special features it looks as though the first part of the run was filmed with Dan with the jump filmed later so Daniel(or stuntman) could have a wire put on.

I thought the ears were an issue as well but I think the picture is just bad because in others they look more sticky out
