I think I know..............being hammered in the press for being a theatre luvvie left-wing thespian with no steel in him by the "craigisnotbond" idiots back when he was cast. Those prats who claimed he couldn't drive a manual gear-box, couldn't swim, couldn't fight, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc....yadayada, yawn yawn.
There's probably a load of reasons why he does the stunts, but I'd bet that (even subconsciously) this is one of the major reasons. He had something to prove and he wants to carry proving that he is better than the best.

I like it, I'm not a particular Adele fan, but I like her voice, she's able to "transport" emotions very well.
