'Bell' man takes on Bond
Mathieu Amalric cast as newest 007 villian

By TATIANA SIEGEL, ED MEZA
Daniel Craig, meet your match.
Mathieu Amalric, who played a paralyzed stroke victim in "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly," will face off against Agent 007 in the 22nd installment in the James Bond franchise, from Columbia Pictures and MGM.
A studio exec also confirmed that Jeffrey Wright, who played CIA agent Felix Leiter in predecessor "Casino Royale," will reprise that role in "Bond 22."
Film begins shooting today at Pinewood Studios in London, nearly a month behind its original schedule. It is still scheduled to premiere on Nov. 7.
Bond-centric blogs have been abuzz with additional casting speculation. As part of a profile on "Bond 22" helmer Marc Forster, Swiss newspaper SonntagsZeitung reported that Swiss actor Anatole Taubman has been cast as a villain/henchman, though there was no confirmation from the studios. In the interview, Forster also told the newspaper that the latest pic will delve deeper into Bond's psyche.
Meanwhile, producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli and the studios are on the verge of casting a female lead and will make a decision within two weeks.
Amalric, an accomplished actor in his native France, has worked with Sony before, playing a small part in Sofia Coppola's "Marie Antoinette" for the studio.

In all the other boards I am reading (all is Commanderbond and Mi6 ) they are head over heals about Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter. I found him to be ok but nothing to be so overly excited about. What do you think?

I guess this the site for the Bond 22 alerts and discussion? Or will it take place in the news tidbits?

About the Jeffrey Wright and Felx Leitner thing. I saw no other man than Daniel Craig AKA James Bond in Casino Royale. I had to see it a 2nd or 3rd time to figure out who those other people were and what their names were. Sorry to say that.

Since I am just at hand right now, I hope red doesn´t mind me answering this...

yes, from 18 -20th they do the casting. For the Bregenz stage for Tosca they look for 1000 and for 23 - 30 more for the old town in Feldkirch. They plan for a bigger scene in Bregenz and a small one in Feldkirch. The shooting could take several evenings/nights so patience is needed.

The shooting is from 28.04 - 10.05.

I knew more German as a kid than I do now. I will also learn to translate soon. Now I see "supernumeraries" I took it to mean supernannies like the television show. If that's correct, I'm worried about why they need nannies? I don't want to see a bunch of children running around interupting my 2- 1/2 hour Dan trance.
