Please warn me next time u decide to post something like this! This really upsets me and to see a close up of that scene, makes it even worse!JoniJoni wrote:Sazza,
Here's one of the same scene.
"If the only thing left of you was your smile and your little finger, you'd still be more of a man than anyone I've ever known."
A GUT FEELING
Silence as all the cameras roll
A bitter tale of love and betrayal
The path of life that it unfolds
And the way it was doomed to fail
A violent past and twist of fate
One the father and the other his son
Through time the line of love and hate
Brings only sorrow for everyone
As the veteran star strikes his first blow
Gloves mask the father’s hand
The actor relatively unknown as yet
Shows the tears behind a tortured man
The crew stand mesmerized
Watching pain and love and hate
Unrelenting, undisguised
Silence deafening, but they must wait
All breath is held, choke back their tears
Until the director calls a cut
The scene is done, the actors embrace
A gnawing ache inside your gut
Craig thanks Newman for his mentorship
Proud to work with such a powerful force
Newman returns the same in kind
Aware of the emotions each brought forth
It’s a wrap, everyone heaves a sigh
This unknown actor just gave us a chill
Is it any wonder why or how it is that
Daniel Craig can give us such a thrill?

Thanks Redluna & Zonzi.
I was struck by Sazza's comment and scrolled down to see the photos. I remember this scene very well and how emotionally raw Daniel seemed to be. His acting was superb and well received by those who saw it. Road to Perdition is a dark story but the performances of Newman, Hanks and Craig were wonderful to watch. With this in mind, the verse came to me and although it's not a poem to turn you on....I liked how it turned out.
