All the speculations are great to read but I doubt he is asking for directions as his car must have navigation system for sure!

Maybe he saw the paps following him for sometime , turned into a lane with little traffic and approached them to talk them out of it.

He doesn't look angry to me , more like he is checking on person in car behind to see if they are ok .

obviously pap stops as we see no pictures of him walking away

Very few pics of steve mcqueen walking around, he died in 1980, bless him, daniel deffo looks like him especially in QOS. He was one georgous looking man though

i think that daniel must know for sure they were paps before getting out as approaching any car, especially in LA, was dangerous thing to do.
i think he ahndled himself with dignity and much restraint as i would be like

i think he walk towards car like cock swagger but not attitude

with the authority and meaning business

what we dont see:

is when paps stop taking pcitures, hard to do with camera halfway up colon and fingers broken
