I heard that Matt is disappointed with big studios because Stardust was actually cut and adited differently that he imagined but it was producer's thing and that he won't be working on big budget films
I just think he will do great and that they are a team with Dan and if U're working with a friend the result will be more than great.
He has everything for a Bond director but if he refuses I still hopr to see him and Dan get together again for another film. Just love reunions

Just to set the record straight, I don't have a problem with Matthew Vaughn or his movies! I only saw "Stardust" (...sorry, got the name wrong too... D'Oh! ) on dvd. I suppose I just didn't really get it or maybe I just wasn't in the right mood for that movie at that time! Anyway, I should have mentioned before that I LOVED Michelle Pfeiffer as the evil witch and Robert De Niro was totally sending himself up in this film! I just remember I was disappointed by it as a whole at the time... Maybe I should try and watch it again sometime!Dunda wrote:IMO Stardust was great. A funny fairy tale with great actors who don't take themselves serious, I loved it and all our friends loved it, too. We made a big happening going to the cinema with 3 families and children from 10 to 15. We all enjoyed this movie.
As for Bond 23 being less action and more ACTING, I don't have a problem with this either. Just bring Daniel back to our cinema screens PUH-LEESE!!!! I did have a thought last night that I wondered whether anybody might like to comment on... It's quite clear from seeing CR and then QOS that Daniel does maybe about 90% of the stunt work on Bond himself. I must admit that I like seeing Daniel do this as it shows his adventurousness and true dedication to his acting. For example, I now know the Madagascar chase scene at the beginning of CR so well that I can tell which one is Daniel and which one is his stunt double Ben. Was anyone disappointed that it was NOT Daniel who kicked the door down in this scene?? Daniel couldn't do it himself possibly because he'd pulled his achilles tendon shooting this scene. I just wish he could have done it because the act of a man knocking a door down is quite sexy, even though he's chasing a terrorist and not a woman!!! On the other hand, I was totally freaked out by the finale of QOS when Daniel is in the middle of a burning building!!!!!!!!!! That did NOT look safe! I know that the people working on Bond are really professional and they always make sure the stunts are safe but...
So, what do the rest of you guys think? Do you prefer to see Daniel doing stunts or would you rather he left it to the "professional" stunt men???
I like seeing Daniel doing the stunts but sometimes I do wish he wouldn't do some of them, because it scares the living daylights out of me!!!
I agree I was disappointed that Daniel didn't kick the door down in Casino but seeing as he was injured I'm glad he didn't!

I would prefer to see him do his own stunts simply because he does them so well. As good as Ben is (bless his heart), he is not an actor and he is not Daniel. Even when he is in mid-air or hanging off something, Daniel is still acting his guts out for us, his audience.
My concern though is that Daniel is now 41. He will be possibly 42 going on 43 by the time Bond 23 is wrapped. I know by today's standards that is not old. But.....because he throws his heart and soul as well as his body into everything, I am concerned he will really hurt himself. He played down that shoulder injury, but it was no storm in a teacup, it was a serious injury.
Hanging off buses, crashing through roofs, cannoning into balcony walls, jumping out of windows. How many men of his age who are not trained sportsmen or stuntmen are able to do this? If the price of Daniel doing stunts is him being ill or injured, then I would rather Ben did everything.

Exactly!! I couldn't put that into words, but thats what I tried to do and failed!!!JEC57 wrote:I would prefer to see him do his own stunts simply because he does them so well. I'm really torn. I would love it if he would let the stuntmen do the job. I am worried that he will hurt himself pretty badly one day. but on the other hand I love Dan because of that never back down attitude and fearlessness that he puts into his work. So I'm afraid that if he stops pushing himself then he won't be the Dan I fell for. In the end I trust him to know his own strengths and weaknesses and I think he will do stunts for as long as he feels able. Being the sportman that he is I don't think injuries will stop him. God that mentality of his scares me and turns me on so much I want to jump right out of my panties.

A bit of all that´s been said here - safety first for him and I am really convinced, he is thinking the same. He is no fool and will not take risks, when the odds are against him. I feel, its a good thing, he is not a victim of his ego and will not hesitate to tell them, if he feels, he is not up to something. I think he will be going towards 43, when they start and even though he will be an incredibly fit 43 year old it´s not 30 anymore.
Plus - Sats and Babs will look well after him and step on his feet, when he risks too much

The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..
GG - is there something you aren't telling us? Are you DC's chief press officer?Germangirl wrote:A bit of all that´s been said here - safety first for him and I am really convinced, he is thinking the same. Im sure Babara and EoN will not allow him to take risks.bumblebee wrote:GG - is there something you aren't telling us? I not think it get that far to satsuki to scold him.
Daniel is aware im sure of what he can do no?
Can any amount of money account for becoming a parapelegic if he falls wrong? However, he choices are his own. But this is all speculation because no one knows what is written in "THE CONTRACT". I am sure everything is dotted and scrutized very carefully. IMOcalypso wrote:but these actors are paid very well to take risks, is it not daniels option?
Money. Barbara has liability issues I am sure so he doesn't "take risks". And I agree Sats knows every inch of that body (aaahhh) for it to not get hurt. Yoga may help with the aging body, but there are limits we learn every year!!! Even a clipped finger can be unexpected, and unavoidable.calypso wrote:Im sure Babara and EoN will not allow him to take risks.bumblebee wrote:GG - is there something you aren't telling us? ah, yes. I have instant cringe myself on the "tut-tuting" of especially the ones we are talking about "tut-tuting"!!calypso wrote:what i mean is that he professional and knows liabilities and his own abilities.
i like to think of daniel being wise in his own mind not to have the "tut tutting' of people to tell him he cannot.
