Angelina Jolie as New Bond Girl?
Angelina Jolie has been interested in being involved with Bond, James Bond, for quite some time. She came THIS CLOSE to signing on to Casino Royale with Daniel Craig — but dropped out of negotiations due to scheduling and her pregnancy at the time. Our source tells us Mrs. Pitt met with Bond producers over the weekend, expressing her interest in joining the franchise. The only hitch, Angelina would be a reoccurring character, instead of just appearing in one movie. With her Tomb Raider franchise dead, and being killed off in Wanted — Angie seeks a solid financial property to revisit every few years. An easy payday indeed! Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are very eager to have Angie on board. But, will they pay what she’s asking?

IMO - whether one likes her or not - she is too big to become a Bond girl. They did just fine with unknown actresses in the DC era, I feel...

It must be a quiet day at The Insider, a nationally syndicated Showbiz news program in the US, as they have stoked the Angelina Jolie/Bond Girl fire again. But the difference that this daily fluff piece may have over the other clone-shows is that The Insider was invited to the location shooting of "Quantum of Solace" a couple of times to interview the cast and crew.
Putting that sliver of credibility aside, The Insider reports that Angelina Jolie is being considered for a role in the James Bond film - the 23rd in the series - despite being rumoured for every 007 movie since 2000.

Heavens, I hope not.
The focus of a Bond movie should be Bond.
She's too much of a media circus and by the very nature of who she is and her film history, she would be fighting Daniel for the limelight.
He'd win hands down because it's a Bond movie and Daniel Craig is an enigma that the press endlessly speculate over, but it would be tasteless to see.
Besides, personally I didn't think they sparked that well in Tomb Raider. I think I'd rather have Jennifer Anniston!

I agree with the comments about Angelina Jolie. The people at Eon or Sony need to pick a relatively unknown actress as a Bond girl. Jolie is too controversial an actress anyway, albeit quite a good one. She would swamp the movie with her own persona. Maybe if they kept her role very small it would work??

A. Jolie is a good actress, but she is way too famous to be a Bond-girl. I think the Bond-girl can be a relatively unknown actress - and as someone else here said; the main focus is Bond himself.

JEC? Are you trying to engage me in this conversation...well, I do love you, but You know what is coming once that name is out there!! (JA-as in, Jack-Ass actor). It is my mission in blog life! Anyway, you made some other good points IMO --too much of media circus--limelight--Babs out of the circle of Daniel's life(he would be hangin with the Pitts at public relation parties, not her and her nose, I mean her and his assistants.). I don't think they sparked at all-should have played her English cousin or something in TRaider. Personally, I don't think Babs will go fur it...some other young woman-ANGELINA is too "old"- should be branded for the rest of her life as a bond gurl. nice. thanks-just PM me next time Jack Ass is mentioned!!

They could have both Jennifer and Angelina as arch enemies. James Bond just sits back and ponders their hatred while nursing a martini.

As he wished in some interview last year: the first 45 minutes Bond on the beach nursing a drink... Those two ladies could take the action during that time

I agree Aragorn. James Bond takes us to exotic and distant locations we've only read about, where he seduces the mysterious female.
I just can't picture her as Jen or Angie.
