There is that innocent look in the Obsession pics and wisdom that lurks behind his eyes in the older pics that make the difference for me - apart form the obvious..
I think you are right. I also see a serenity in his eyes in the recent photos. It's like he has nothing to prove anymore.
He always knew he was good, now the whole world knows it too.
The early ones, there is a hunger there to show the world what he is made of.
Oh my..... Apologies for posting some repeats, but I had to pick my favourites out of that feast of images!
He was just so luminous as a young actor. All that talent and energy. There were flashes of true brilliance back then. He was only hampered by a lack of enough meaty roles. Thank heavens for theatre which kept him fed and enthused through those lean years. Thank heavens for his arrogance which would not allow him to give up. Thanks heavens for his family and friends for believing in him and supporting him.
Thank you so much. What a lovely Sunday, so many wonderful pictures!
Glad you like them - was fun going thru that Rover again. Way back we called it artsy shit but had a good time watching it anyway. Always, when I read Shakespeare has too many lines for him, I think of the Rover. Many, maaanyy lines here So, he can do it - maybe some day. They are real man killers, I believe and with him its not a matter of guts, I think, that he isn´t doing them. Must be another reason...
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..
