My thinking is that - as I said - it will need more going for it than simple things like this.

I stopped believing in "happy ever after" a long time ago.
Agreed. It's a wonderful concept and works for a lot of people, but it's hard work and yet still doesn't work for a lot of people. I'd say, only if someone is Mormon would I throw in a guarantee  .
He made this relationship diff from his previous ones. We believing that he can be quite stubborn isn't gonna give her up without fighting.

You know what? these pics of them together are hard to come by it seems. So when it happens it will be great if they are left to the rest of us, who rejoice in the here and now, to appreciate and feel happy about instead of trying to bring the mood down in the form of "discussion".
Yeah there are no guarantees in life and we are all gonna die one day but none of us are thinking about that and spoiling our todays, are we? So why do that to their marriage. Gosh just let them be
Sorry for my crude analogy but I think that fits.
So true. I think we got off on a philosophical tangent. It IS fantastic to see photos of them together. The papz ones are always my faves, but then I prefer all/anyone's candid photos over staged photos the majority of the time. Istanbul looks gorgeous! I've never been there. Turkey is a bad name for a country though, huh?

Don't know too much about the Mormons, so I'll take your word for that. I guess into the mix I would throw genuinely observing Catholics....those who went through the extended Pre-Cana training before they tied the knot.....but even then, the marriage may last but happiness is not guaranteed.

I'm not just talking about Daniel and RW, and I'm not having a pop at them (either of them) but the facts are there.....it's true for most of the so-called "1st World", the odds on a marriage lasting 10 years is slim.

I know divorced full-blown Catholics, but I have to agree with you - I know more 'will never divorce' Catholics who would give anything if they could have a redo. They exist in the marriage for the sake of the kids, parents, etc., but they are no longer 'in love.'

Sorry JEC. I am all for diff opinions. Maybe I was a bit abrupt in my post before. I guess I was feeling like a fully inflated balloon that got pricked  when I read your post about him ending things sometime down the line when we had just seen them being happy and relaxed....
I get my enjoyment in seeing him (them) like that. She is there (I mean the special place in his life) now. Thats what matters. So yeah.

I agree it takes more than set visits.... maybe she wont be in a position to visit him more often in the future. Who knows how long this visit is gonna last. maybe its just a flying visit for a few days? Does that mean they won't make it as a couple? Does that mean she loves him any less. No.
That I don't believe. So far in what 1 and 1/2 years ( that we have known them) they have managed to see each other every few weeks. Thats good.
Hopefully they will continue with that trend. Lets see.

Anyways I see them both as a smart /decent sort that knows what it takes and will do it.

To me there's no point in thinking otherwise when we don't control their lives.... I leave them at it and just hope for the best and focus on the pretty (particularly after dry spells) ;)

I do wonder, if she was on the boat. Probably not - maybe not there at the time. :dunno:
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

JEC, my happy ever after slapped me in the face so fast I still haven't recovered.
In DC&RW's case I hope they have a hapier ending than I did.
:rotfl: OMG I crack my self up all the time, happy endings
they are having a lot more of those than I am that's for sure.

You are not being confrontational at all. Life isn't all either or, we all have our opnions and good to vice them.

Now I want o get back to the happy endings :sigh:
I know how you get them, jsut waiting for one to come my way :brood:

Caramel, what you said is SO true and was expressed very well.

I'm happy with the pretty and do the only thing I can do for their marriage - wish them well.

Now back to the pretty - Daniel, PLEEEEZE keep your buffed bod. I swear a buffed Swedish journalist is not an oxymoron. And grow your hair out some. Just a bit. At least. Mid-length for you and blonde is always a crowd pleaser.

There was animosity towards Rachel being mentioned in other threads hence why there are isolated topics for DC & RW.

To now be piqued when one was involved in requesting the creation and implementation of the original sandbox is rather ironic.
