I don't quite get what they mean by a "Scandinavian" actress.... why so specific on the Nationality? As a blonde myself, I have always yearned for a Blonde Bond Girl.... but they always seem to be cast as the "evil" ones. Le Chiffre's girlfriend in CR was blonde..... NO FAIR! We can be as pretty as the brunettes... and we can be NICE too!!!! :?

I'm also a blonde, but unfortunately, I don't think exotic is a common adjective for blonde, and Bond gets exotic women. There have been blonde Bond girls though.

Sorry ladies it is completely off topic but I will ask here: is there a thread for Fleming's books?

Of course there have :) The most famous one was the legendary Honey Ryder - Ursula Andress, but there have been a few more, some of them were initially enmies, but later became Bond's allies. :)

I'd say a blonde Bond girl is a good idea :)

PS I'm blonde too :)

PS2 Sorry, purple, I have no idea about the Fleming thread.

No, no Fleming thread. If you wish to discuss his books, feel free to open one. Might be a good idea, even though, personally, I have not read one yet,.
The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

OK....... .... so there have been a few blonde Bond Girls. I was probably just thinking of Daniels Bonds where only brunettes got to shag him....

I read half of 'Goldfinger'. It was a giveaway with a magazine. I couldn't get on with it because it was so plain to tell that it was written in the 1950's when it was a completely different world. I admired Fleming's attention to detail though...

Fields was a red head
But you are right - in Daniel's Bond movies NO lucky blondes. This needs to change! :)

I see. I have just finished Live and let die and I will start Diamonds are forever. Actually I am very surprised to find his books so entertaining :) of course there are things which I consider blatantly revolting but I try to take into account the time when they were written. As for the technically outdated aspects I just think of them as vintage. All in all I think the books are much much better than the movies with the exception of Casino Royale of course. And I simply love Bond the way Fleming created him. I know it has been said already but it is SO close to the way DC portrays him.

Maybe. If it's not the mistake of an intern at Sony... :D Anyway I hope we will get a Bond girl who survives at the end of the movie - DC's Bond proves to be quite lethal in this respect: except for Camille (who wasn't romantically involved with him), they all died...
