NTTD: Out October 2021
Moderator: Germangirl
Just read on James Bond Radio :
Here's a new game we should all play, called...
"Let's keep an eye on Daniel's schedule!"
For this first round, Danny Boy's new TV show, Purity will "Begin production in 2017."
Now, that means production on Bond 25 might begin at the very end of 2017 (like SPECTRE did in December 2014) or maybe early the following year for a Christmas release in 2018.
Now, we only need to start worrying if...
1. EON make a statement saying that he's not coming back.
2. His schedule fills up way into 2018.

Rapid Round: Paul Haggis Picks His James Bond, Talks Scientology Six Years After Leaving
You worked on two James Bond films. Would you do another?
I was just over the moon doing Casino Royale. They gave me a lot of room and I loved working with Martin Campbell, the director, and Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, the producers. That’s what I’m proudest of. I didn’t know at the time that I would enjoy the process as much as I did or that I’d be as proud of that script, and Martin didn’t change a word. There’s nothing better for a writer. I also worked on Quantum of Solace and I did, I think, a pretty good script, but the Writers Guild strike happened so I wasn’t able to follow the production, and the director [Marc Forster] decided he wanted to rewrite me. I’m not as happy with it. Would I do another? Oh sure, but they’ve got really good writers doing their stuff now.
Who would you cast as Bond?
Whoever Barbara Broccoli decides! There are four to five really good candidates I’ve heard of so far. And I’ve also heard the idea that there’s going to be a black Bond and I think that’s great. I mentioned it to somebody who went apoplectic, and I said, “Oh please, when Daniel Craig came on they said, ’A blond Bond? It’s impossible!’ Idris Elba would make a great Bond.[/b]

It's all garbage, conjecture, guess work and rumour.
The only solid news was Mendes because it came direct from the horse's mouth.
Then that Yentob stuff came from one source only (not sure if this has been shown/posted in this thread) and the same journo who put that together had an agenda with Mendes' interview as well. Not one word was breathed from Turner fans or Poldark fans either who were actually present. Says it all really.
Sack it, they all have frigging agendas. Clickbait for starters.
Know I said I wouldn't post again in this thread but I worked a long day and somehow that translates into long ass posts at the most random of times.
Second sentence is why I still think our boy is done. I flip flop often. Now I've resigned to it in the hope I might be pleasantly surprised. Babs is a business woman and she'll move on. I believe she'll do what she can to retain but only because of success. If it's clear it isn't gonna happen then she'll whip out Elton John - Daniel, chocolates and a couple of tissues .
Besides, I'm far more interested in the fact DC might have to act out a wank scene out in Purity now . *no shame*

Cheeky, don't hold back. Opinion is opinion
And I agree to what you say. In my mind, Bond is already gone and post Bond Daniel has popped up. I hope to see lots of interesting stuff from this man.
..and yeah, Purity sounds interesting

The top notch acting in the Weisz/Craig/Spall 'Betrayal' is emotionally true, often v funny and its beautifully staged with filmic qualities..

I was firmly in the 'he will probably do another' camp for a long time. After Mendes and what he said at Hay Festival I flopped completely the other way. Happy to be surprised, to me, he IS James Bond (and some may disagree with Connery but so what) but he has to do what is best for him as many of us do with our own careers. The resignation to all of this means I won't be bothered when it's official and if he does do another then I'll be overjoyed .
By the way, what IS going on with this fifth in his contract nonsense? I always go off the interview with MGW who said that Daniel is now out of contract:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zJlLeD6UfQ
25 seconds onwards. 45 seconds for the comment about having no contract. Good interview in general TBH.
