It was a combination of his grimace, the way the suit is hanging badly off his shoulder and the angle of his wrist......made me think of the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Old B&W Hollywood movie made in 1939. It's a play on the way Daniel slips out of his own skin and changes into whatever character he is playing

He definitely looks like the Hunchback of Notre Dame! I just didn't know the reference to the bells
