Daniel shooting Blindness in Toronto
According to MoviesOnline:
http://www.moviesonline.ca/movienews_11956.html
Daniel Craig & Julianne Moore will be shooting the new sci-fi thiller Blindness in Toronto. The film will begin shooting immediately in various locations around town according to our insider. The film is actually quite similar to Children of Men to me, accept for the plague is different.
Based on Nobel Prize winning author Jose Saramango's book it is about a plague that causes everyone to go blind in a city and the chaos that ensues. Sounds like it could be a good one! I am a big fan of Daniel Craig and Julianne Moore! The movie is co-written by Canadian Don McKellar, and co-starring Julianne Moore as well as McKeller. It is Directed by Fernando Meirelles
Anyone live in Toronto and want to give Daniel sighting reports?
I've read the book and it was more terrifying than anything by Stephen King, gives me chills to think of Daniel in this! Needless to say I can't wait

Oh, Toronto, I love that city - if I had the money and the time, I'd definitely go hand out there in the summer

This Spanish article says that the second location will be Sao Paolo in Brazil - another place which I would love to visit!

Ladies......I just picked myself off the floor....but still hyperventilating. If you read the other thread, you can see how excited I am by this news.
I live in downtown Toronto and have been through the craziness of my favourite "men" visiting here. It was Russell Crowe for "Cinderella Man" and Clive Owen for "Shoot Em Up" just recently. I love reading about their sightings all around town. I'm pretty sure which hotel he's going to be staying at. I hope hangs out for a beer in my neighbourhood. What would be even better if my home was chosen for filming (**dreaming**). Man, that would be wild.

you wanna do WHAT to me?
I hate to rain in your parade, but the participation of Daniel in this movie has not been confirmed according to the article Agrippina has on her post. However, if he does appear in the film I'll be there. Even though I am not even near Toronto - But I'm at least in the same continent. So, I'll drive, fly, walk, hitch, whatever necessary to get there!
I have a cousin who lives near Toronto, I think is time to pay a visit

Togal, my boyfriend lived and worked in Toronto for three months when he was at university years ago. He really, really liked it. We have friends going over next month and I think they're also going to Montreal, Quebec and Ottawa.
I have been to Niagara Falls!

The most obvious area that celebs like to hang out and stay (Four Seasons, Hyatt) is Yorkville. It's upscale and has all the fine shops and restaurants they would need. I used to work in that area and I don't like it that much.
I think Daniel would feel at home in Queen St W and West Queen St W, and not because I live there. It's very artistic, trendy but unpretentious. There are great places to eat, shop and just walk around. He could probably walk around un-noticed too. There are lots of English/Irish pubs around too for a pint. I don't go to clubs/lounges at all because it's really not my lifestyle. A block from where I live is the entertainment district and that area is on fire Friday and Saturday nights. There is one place across the street from me called "Ultra Supper Club" and the "it crowd" goes there. It's used for lots of Film Festival after parties. There is no name in front of the establishment which gives it the mysterious quality and the "if you have to ask where and what it is....you shouldn't be going there" vibe.
Me, I'm hoping that Daniel goes "Canadian" and checks out a Tim Horton's and orders a "large double double." Maybe get a French Cruller while he's at it.
Toronto has a very diverse population. It is the most multicultural city in the world. Each neighbourhood has a distinct flavour. In city proper we have Chinatown, Little Italy, Little India, Yorkville, Queen St W (where I live), Entertainment district (clubs, restaurants, theatres), West Queen W, The Beach, The Danforth (Greektown), Harbourfront and lots more. So, what good hotels and/or pubs are nearby, togal? I'm sure he'll visit those frequently.

And do you realize that they may need extras? My dream of being wardrobe assistant may come true.Marisa wrote:OMG, girl, wouldn't it be awesome if we could travel together? I know Marisa's in Arizona and 007cheese is in Seattle.
tobal -- Find out if they need extras and you should totally do that! Yes, I know I am completely ignoring the fact that you may have a job or school or some other obligation.
