You could be right, of course, but the film is in the news already and we have seen, that tons of interviews and whatnot didn't save C&A - so maybe this will develop a life of its own and do well. Must say, I don't overly trust Daniels judgement anymore based on doing FOAF the way they did and on C&A.tampa wrote:Gosh I hope that they are going to do some promotion soon. I hope the director gets interviewed too so we know the studio didn't take the film away from him. Right now, we're just getting gossip with no confirmation of anything. It would just kill the film if the stars and director won't say a word because they think it was ruined. THe press will take that as a cue and kill it.
Yes. All the promo in the world won't make a film a hit. They spent a lot of time and money to promote C & A. Tom Hanks also promo'd the heck out of his last film with Julia Roberts, and it was a huge bomb. It would be ironic if they didn't promote DH at all, and it was a hit. But if it is any good, and a thriller usually has to work as a thriller, you'd think they would want to promote it.Germangirl wrote:You could be right, of course, but the film is in the news already and we have seen, that tons of interviews and whatnot didn't save C&A - so maybe this will develop a life of its own and do well. No, I don't find him good looking at all either, but it seems a lot of folks are lucky with their films while DC isn't. Time this changes...without C&A2 I believe, there is a ASR film on his desk - there may be time now and so far, at least Babs always got big bucks out of him...tampa wrote:Yes. OT: Just saw a picture of Ryan Gosling at the Toronto film festival. He is dressed almost exactly like DC was in Berlin, similar suit cut, and funky shoes. I'm positive he is imitating DC but I don't find him good looking. He has a pointy chin, and close set eyes. But it looks like Drive will be a hit. Actors need to be lucky.
I'm not a big HJ fan and the play did not get good reviews from the critics in NY. Maybe as a small budget film it would work. But I think HJ has a number of big films lined up. He will be doing Wolfman whatever, and they just announced he's doing Le Miz. They might have to recast his ASR role. I'd like to see DC do a really good romantic film with Eva Green. I thought they were terrific together. But for sure, not a romcom.Germangirl wrote:No, I don't find him good looking at all either, but it seems a lot of folks are lucky with their films while DC isn't.
